PLAYER SIGNING | RYAN ALLAN

Gisborne Giants are thrilled to announce the signing of Ryan Allan for the 2027 season.

Ryan arrives at the Giants with an outstanding football resume and a career that has seen him perform at the highest level across multiple competitions.

Emerging from the Gippsland League as a standout talent, Ryan was selected and elevated to Coburg VFL, before making his way to EDFL powerhouse Aberfeldie.

During his time at Aberfeldie, Ryan became a three-time Premiership Player, a four-time EDFL Team of the Year representative, and was named at Full Back in the EDFL Team of the Decade for the 2010s.

Ryan then made the move to Caroline Springs, where he produced another outstanding period of football. Across 64 games, Ryan booted an impressive 151 goals, while claiming the club’s Best & Fairest in 2024 before being named WFNL Team of the Year Captain and Centre Half Back.

A player with an exceptional football pedigree, Ryan has consistently established himself among the top echelon of players throughout his career.

While his football credentials speak for themselves, we are equally excited about the qualities Ryan brings away from the football field and the impact he can have on our playing group, culture and future.

We are absolutely ecstatic to welcome Ryan, Rachel and their three children to the Giants family.

Welcome to Gisborne, Ryan — we can’t wait to see what you can bring to the Giants in 2027.

We’re delighted to see Liv return to the Giants for the 2027 season!

A sharp shooter with plenty of speed and movement, Liv is a constant threat in the attacking circle and a difficult player for defenders to track. Her strong feeds into the goal circle create plenty of opportunities for scoring, while her voice and communication on court make her a valuable part of our attack.

Liv’s positive approach also sees her play an important role in encouraging and supporting our younger players, helping them build confidence both on and off the court.

We can’t wait to see the damage Liv does in the shooting circle! 🧡

Angus is back for 2027!

A cracking move down back saw Angus become a key part of our defensive unit, quickly establishing himself as an important player within the group.

Angus continues to develop into a key part of our team, and is someone we want to continue building with as we look towards the future.

He brings plenty of enthusiasm, energy and support for his teammates, making him a valued member of our playing group both on and off the field.

We can’t wait to see Angus back next year and continue his development as he works towards becoming a key senior player for the Giants.

Tom Doyle is back for 2027!

The ultimate utility, Tom has the ability to impact the game forward, in the ruck and down back, making him one of the most versatile players in our squad.

A cracking season has seen Tom earn a league invitation, particularly after making the move down back midway through the season, where he quickly established himself as a key part of our defensive unit.

Tom has become an important part of our foundations, and we’re thrilled to have him locked in for another season.

We’re keen to see Tom get back into it for 2027 and continue building on what has already been a fantastic season.

GRAND FINAL WEEK | TEAM SELECTION DINNER 🏆

Grand Final week is here, and we’re looking forward to bringing the club together for our Grand Final Team Selection Dinner!

The dinner is open to all families and friends of the Gisborne Giants — everyone is welcome to come along, support our players and enjoy a great night together as we prepare for the biggest games of the season.

🍽️ $20 – Meal & soft drink
🍺 $25 – Meal & alcoholic drink

Meal options: Chicken schnitzel, chicken burger or beef burger.

We’ll also have Joker Poker on the night, with a winner guaranteed, as well as our Meat Tray Raffle with tickets available on the night.

Please complete the dinner form attached and have your numbers submitted by Tuesday night so we can finalise.

Then, once the games are done on Saturday, the clubrooms will be open Saturday afternoon for everyone to come back.

Good luck to all our players, coaches and volunteers in the week leading into the Grand Finals. Get around each other, prepare well and enjoy the opportunity.

We’re excited to have Jade back in Giants colours for the 2027 season!

A mature and experienced player, Jade is a dominant force through the midcourt, using her speed, vision and composure to make an impact. Her ability to transition from defence into attack makes her a constant threat for opposition teams.

Jade’s love for the game is evident in the determination, intensity and commitment she brings to every game. She is a valued member of our club and we can’t wait to see her continue to make her mark on court in 2027.🧡
