What a celebration of swimming. Congratulations to our Swimmers of the Month Frankie and Jax, our September Club Night's Lucky Lane Winner Quinton and our superstar swimmers who came together and competed at the EDA Junior Encouragement Meet. Lastly a shout out to Jemma for kicking off the first of the long course season's meets at Ringwood, competing across 5 events, smashing her times with massive PBs.

A BIG shout out and thank you to all of our members for their participation during our AGM and thank you as always to our wonderful volunteers. 🫶

Club Nights provide the opportunity for swimmers of all ages to improve their Personal Best (PB) times in organised events and earn points based on improvement. Swimmers participate in a range of different events across the club meet season to ensure swimmers get an opportunity to try different strokes and distances. It is also a great opportunity for new swimmers to try out competition swimming in a fun and relaxed environment.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to Club Night so that we can get racing on time.

*1st Club Night is free, no club membership is required to attend your first GTSC club night. Any future participation will require a Gisborne Thunder Swimming Club Membership or Gisborne Thunder Swimming Club Swimming Victoria Membership.
Please note that there has been an increase to the Club Night Entry Fee as of the 1st JAN 2026. The Club Night Entry Fee is now $6.50 per swimmer, payable at the door.

Congratulations Ava, Issy and Mav!
Our swimmers were back in the pool over the weekend competing against Victoria’s best, including the likes of Tara Kinder and Sam Williamson, at the 2026-27 UNCLOUD Swimming Victoria SC Championships.

Ava qualified for an impressive 4 events including the 50M BREAST, 50M BACK, 100M IM and the 200M IM. Ava’s best performance was in her 200IM finishing 25th overall.

Issy qualified for her first Open in the 50M BREAST. Her PB swim jumped her up 11 rankings and now she sits just outside Victoria’s top 50!

Mav also qualified for his first Open in the 50M BACK. His PB swim and impressive heat win jumped him up 19 rankings into Victoria’s top 50!

Thank you to Coach Matt for being poolside to support our swimmers pre and post race. Well done swimmers it was so exciting to see you swimming alongside Aussie Dolphins! We hope you had a chance to take it all in and feel inspired. 💙🤍💛

Did you catch our multitalented Gisborne Thunder Swimmer in the paper? 👀

Benji came second in the state
9/10-year-old School Sports Victoria
cross-country race, which means that this month he will be heading off to Sydney as part of Team Vic for the national event.

Congratulations Benji we can’t wait to hear how you go at Nationals!!

GTSC Swam up a Storm at the 2026 Swimming Victoria UNCLOUD SC Age Championships with 3 swimmers competing across 3 days, 14 heats and 3 finals.

It’s a huge achievement to qualify for this meet, a bigger achievement to make a final and an incredible achievement to medal! We congratulate Ava, Mav and Jeff on achieving their milestone moments. ⭐️

The swimmers would like to pass on their thanks and gratitude to Coach Matt and all who tuned in and supported them from afar. Your words of encouragement and support meant so much to them all. 🥰

Ava qualified for 6 events, swam in the 800M FREE straight final placing 6th and made the 200M BREAST final placing 10th. Ava was 1st emergency for the 100M BREAST final and Ava also came away with a nice PB in her 200M BREAST prelim.

Jeff qualified for a number of events but chose to hedge his bets and focus his efforts on just the 50M FREE. He qualified 2nd fastest for the final with a 0:00.48 PB. Jeff improved again in the night final shaving off another 0:00.07 PB and took home the silver medal in an exciting finish🥈.

Mav qualified for 7 events, qualified for the 200M BACK final placing 7th. Maverick was 1st emergency for the 100M BACK final and Maverick notched up an impressive 7 PBs!!!

We also enjoyed down time between heats and finals and celebrated Mav and Ash’s birthdays during the meet, Happy Birthday to you both. 🎉

Congratulations swimmers and support crew, what you have achieved and continue to achieve is inspirational.
