Dolphin Sea Scouts came together to celebrate a remarkable achievement as Edward was presented with the Australian Scout Award.

The Australian Scout Award is the highest achievement in the Scout section and recognises a young person's commitment to leadership, personal growth, outdoor adventure, community service and Scouting values.

To mark the occasion, members from all sections participated in a special campfire celebration. Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers each performed a skit or song, creating an evening filled with fun, laughter and Scouting spirit.

During the presentation, Edward received his Australian Scout Award badge and medallion and was also presented with a shadow box commemorating his Adventurous Journey and the experiences that contributed to achieving this prestigious award.

We were honoured to welcome Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett to the presentation, along with Edward's family and friends, who joined us in celebrating this significant milestone.

Following the campfire activities, everyone enjoyed supper and cake while reflecting on Edward's achievements and Scouting journey.

Congratulations, Edward. We are incredibly proud of your dedication, perseverance and accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing what adventures await you in Venturers and beyond.

Last weekend, our Rovers organised a camp at Lake Awoonga and invited the Venturers along for an action-packed weekend of adventure and preparation.

The main focus of the camp was helping Brock prepare for his upcoming adventurous journey in August. Saturday saw the group complete a challenging ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฑ๐—ธ๐—บ ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ธ๐—ฒ, providing the perfect opportunity for Brock to test his new equipment and ensure everything was working as expected before his expedition.

On Sunday, the group swapped hiking boots for bows and enjoyed an ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜† ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป, developing new skills and enjoying some friendly competition.

Experiences like these are a great example of how Scouting helps young people build confidence, resilience and practical outdoor skills while supporting each other to achieve personal goals.

Good luck to Brock as he continues preparing for his adventure. We look forward to following his journey in August!

Over the past few weeks, our Venturer Scouts have been busy planning, learning new skills, and preparing for upcoming adventures.

The unit recently spent the evening participating in Unit Council planning activities, working collaboratively to contribute ideas and help shape the term ahead. It was fantastic to see the Venturers stepping up, sharing ideas, and taking ownership of their program.

Venturers also took part in a cooking night where Anaya introduced the unit to a different style of cooking using no meat. The evening encouraged everyone to try new techniques, explore alternative ingredients, and build practical cooking skills together.

In preparation for Wonga Totem Camp, the Venturers worked alongside the Scout unit to organise equipment and pack the trailer ready for the busy camp weekend ahead. The teamwork and effort shown by the unit ensured everything was organised and ready to go.

It has been a great few weeks filled with leadership, teamwork, practical skills, and adventure.

Over the past few weeks, our Scout unit has been busy developing practical skills, teamwork, and leadership through a range of exciting activities and adventures.

Scouts spent time planning a cycle journey, bike safety rules, and the ABCs of bike maintenance before demonstrating their bike control skills on a riding course.

The unit also put their pioneering skills to the test by building bases using poles and lashings to erect their flag poles. Once the bases were complete, the Scouts enjoyed several energetic games of Capture the Flag with Nerf blasters, putting their teamwork, strategy, and communication skills into action.

It has been fantastic to see the Scouts continuing to challenge themselves, support each other, and grow in confidence through hands-on learning and adventure.

We canโ€™t wait to see what the next few weeks bring!

Over the past four weeks, our Cub Scouts have been busy learning new skills, working as a team, and taking on plenty of fun challenges.

The Cubs recently completed their environmental project by painting the bird houses they constructed over the previous two weeks. It was fantastic to see their creativity come to life while also learning about caring for local wildlife and the environment.

The unit also spent time learning about cycle journey planning, bike safety rules, and the ABCs of bike maintenance before putting their skills into practice on a short riding course where they demonstrated their bike control and confidence.

We were also excited to officially scarf our adult helper Shaddow (Phil). Thank you for supporting our Cub program and becoming part of the Dolphin Sea Scouts family.

Outdoor adventure and teamwork were also on full display as the Cubs built bases using poles and lashings to erect their flag poles before putting their creations to the test during several energetic games of Capture the Flag with Nerf blasters.

It has been a fantastic few weeks full of learning, teamwork, creativity, and adventure.

The Joey Unit has had a fantastic few weeks packed with learning, adventure and new experiences.

Joeys were introduced to SIAs (Special Interest Areas) and began a group SIA learning the AUSLAN alphabet while practising their names and introductions together.

The Joeys have also been learning about bike safety and the ABCs of bike maintenance as they prepared for their Joey sleepover and bike ride adventure.

They also learned beading skills and created handmade gifts for Motherโ€™s Day.

Across the past few weeks, the Joeys have continued building confidence, teamwork and independence while having plenty of fun along the way.
