HE’S DONE IT!!

After getting stranded on 99 last year coincidentally also in round 2, Josh Stacey has finally reached his maiden century.

In what was a knock for the ages, Josh put on an incredible display of patience, persistence and determination. Coming in with 2 balls left of the 3rd over of the day, he batted through till the end of the days play.

With wickets falling around him, Josh steered the firsts to a total of 220 after 80 overs. He finished unbeaten on 105 after 221 balls. He brought up his ton with two balls to spare in the days play in front of a full Burwood pavilion.

Special shoutout to James McLisky who coming in to bat at 10 worked incredibly hard to help stack to this milestone.

Josh has been a pivotal member of the 1st XI for the best part of 4 years now and is richly deserving of his maiden century. Congratulations Josh🖤💛

Round 2 RESULTS
Round 2 sees confident wins from our 4th XI and Sunday teams and a strong batting display across the board from our 1s,2s and 3s.
Congratulations to Josh Stacey who scored his maiden first XI century as he rescued the 1s from a tough spot.
The 2nds put up a strong total and managed to snag 3 wickets before the end of play to put Glen Iris on next some serious pressure.
Twin tons from Matt and Dan Adams helped to the 3s reach a mammoth total of 352.

Good luck to all this week.

Burwood Reserve witnessed something seriously special over the weekend.

For the first time in Burwood history two brothers have both made a 100 playing in the same team. Dan and Matt Adams put on a 189 together with Matt bringing up his ton while his brother was at the other end. Dan made his 100 shortly after with a single in over 63.

Things weren’t looking to good when the Adams boys started their partnership as the 3s were 3/43. The boys led the thirds to an end of innings total of 352.

These two are some of the hardest working people around the club and couldn’t be more deserving. Congratulations boys 💛🖤
