The beach is where swimming really comes to life. Waves to jump, rock pools to explore, and that moment when a child realises the water is somewhere they feel completely at home. Every new skill has a first time.

The first step down into the water. The first time putting your face in. The first kick that actually moves you forward.

None of them look like much from the side of the pool. But each one is a small act of courage, and the next one comes a little easier.

PSA: Term 4 starts this Monday, 5 October. 🏊
We can't wait to jump back into the pool with you. For all current students, this is the time to sharpen the saw and build on the momentum you carried from the cooler months. For all our curious new swimmers, we are so excited to start your swim journey together. Water confidence and swim safety for when you hit the beach, pools and rivers is priority 1 for us as a swim school.
A few things worth sorting this weekend:
✅ Check your Term 4 payment in the iClassPro app so you can skip the queue at reception
📅 Pop Sunday 25 October in the calendar. It's our first Sunday Funday.
🏇 We're closed for the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 3 November

One week until Term 4 🏊‍♂️

Whether you're a beginner swimmer at 4 months old and about to touch the water for the first time, 10 years old and chasing a spot in Squad, or an Adult ready to finally learn the skill, there is a place for you here. Our Tiny Tots are in the pool with mum or dad building confidence from their very first kick. Our Little Squirts are learning to float, breathe and move independently. Our Beginners are putting strokes together. Our Juniors are refining technique across all four strokes. And our Squad swimmers are training with purpose, building speed and endurance every session.
We run adult classes for all levels, from complete beginners to swimmers who want to sharpen their technique. Wherever your child is at, or wherever you are at, there is a class that fits.

SwimWorld has been part of the Monash community for over 50 years. More than 1,100 families come through our doors every week. The pool is 32 degrees, heated indoors, every single day of the year. And every child gets a proper assessment before they start, so the placement is right from day one.

The 2026 National Drowning Report presents a sobering reality for families, recording 313 lives lost in Australian waterways over the past year. Drowning fatalities among children aged 5 to 14 years rose by 18%, and 54% of these incidents occurred while they were swimming and recreating. This vulnerability is compounded by a lack of fundamental ability, with 48% of Year 6 students currently unable to swim 50 metres or tread water for two minutes.

Building strong aquatic survival skills remains the most direct way to protect children and reverse these trends. We tailor our lessons by building water confidence and practical safety techniques for students under 15, equipping them to handle unexpected situations across all aquatic environments. Consistent weekly practice gives young swimmers the strength and knowledge required to safely navigate pools, lakes, and beaches all year round.
