Immanuel Piranhas Swimming Club 🐟 IMSC is a competitive Swimming Club
Competing at State & National Levels in South Australia📍
⭐️ Club of the Year - 2022

PBA Piranhas Swimming Club was formed in May 2007 through the renaming of the Sturt Flinders Piranhas Swimming Club. Created and inspired by triple Olympian, Glenn Beringen, PBA encourages all swimmers to reach their full potential by providing an environment that inspires excellence. This is done within a supportive and friendly atmosphere. In 2017 the club re branded with a new name as the Immanuel Piranhas. Immanuel Piranhas squads, under head coach Carolyn Veldhuyzen guidance, are based at the 10 lane 25m Immanuel College pool in Novar Gardens, Adelaide. The Immanuel Piranhas Swimming Club's association with the resident swim school, iSwim & partnership with Immanuel College Novar Gardens - allows junior swimmers with interest in a club environment to become an active participant in our social and competitive events.

Congratulations to our newest Immanuel Piranhas Life Members, Peter Muller and Heather Pronk! 🏆💙

Peter has been part of the club for many years, first through his children Grant and Sammy, then becoming a coach and committee member, displaying his love of swimming and the Piranhas community. As Vice President for many years, he has guided the committee, coaches, swimmers and families, and officiated at meets. He led the nomination that made us the first South Australian club nominated for Swimming Australia’s Club of the Year Award, which we won in 2022, and he has supported the club through sponsorship and countless hours at BBQs, events and fundraisers alongside his wife Carol.

Heather has given more than 10 years to the club, serving as Treasurer on four occasions. Much of her work happens behind the scenes: storing BBQ equipment and food at home, ordering stock, organising trophies and gifts, arranging travel for coaches and helping at countless events. She has also officiated and team managed at meets, pitching in wherever she is needed.

Peter and Heather, thank you for everything you have given to the Piranhas. We are so grateful, and it is an honour to welcome you as Life Members. 🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️

Every Lane Leads Somewhere — and for Eliza Tan, it’s led to the top of the podium. 🏆

Congratulations to Eliza Tan on an outstanding SUKMA 2026 Selangor campaign: seven gold medals on her debut, two national records in the women’s 100m freestyle, and the title of Sportswoman of the Games.

Eliza began her journey as a boarder here at Immanuel College , training with the Immanuel Piranhas Swimming Club before progressing to Malaysia’s national squad. A proud moment for our program, and proof of exactly what Every Lane Leads Somewhere means.

Congratulations, Eliza! 🏊‍♀️
