Well the 2026 Victorian Outboard Club’s marathon weekend has been run & won.
There are fuel tank refills, driver swaps , strategy calls all for the x2 ,30min races for the 15hp class , the 3 hour marathon race for the 25hp/550cc class and a 30min race for the 55 & 85mph mono class.
And within the race ,if you slip up, there are penalties - ie: speeding in pit lane, not slowing under caution flags, running out of fuel and spinning etc . And unfortunately one of our driver’s (name starts with a J) managed to hit a turn buoy which gave us a one lap penalty , but according to him ,the turn buoy hit him 🤣.
So ,in the end ,we came away with a 3rd in the 25hp x3 hour marathon race !

The final results were:
Team Shiver 1st 🥇 place.
Team Vic APBA 13 2nd 🥈 place.
& Team Bucking Bull 3rd 🥉 place- Lars Larson, Tayla Jackson & Jake Jackson.

We race a lot and I can tell you that this weekend’s marathon event is awesome ,and the best weekend’s racing in the calendar for camaraderie and simple fun !
So thanks to Glenmaggie & District Boat Club for hosting the event, the VOC for running the event and all the volunteers and competitors who make it such a success.
And we’re planing on coming back bigger and better next year for redemption 😜.

The kids are racing in the Victorian Outboard Club`s Marathon with Lars Larson in our old 25hp boat- "Bucking Bull".
Always a great fun & competitive day with lots of laughs.

As you’re all aware Sam Lucas is our no.1 & main driver for F1 &F2 R Marine / Club Marine machines but we had a team meeting with the head honchos ( lucas & Jackson) and it was decided we need a reserve driver ready to step in if the need ever arises and Sam damages his teeth.
So with that said ;we’re having a shoot out between George Lucas & Jake Jackson over the next couple of club days to see who is faster .
