All three heats and the Feature race from Illabo Motorsports Park last weekend.

We had a great time, the was handling much better thanks to Gary Bowyer and Wally Kermond for helping reset the shocks and springs and heights.

We had a fantastic day of racing yesterday at Illabo Motorsport Park. Couple of heat wins and 2nd in the feature - it was all nice and relaxed and we all had so much FUN. Great to see Terry Clarke back in the saddle and taking the win in the main event driving Riley’s #50. Even better seeing the #9 (our old TGR car) White Ant Racing GP midget go so well with a new motor in it, great job Gary Bowyer.

One more race event to go at WSS in two weeks time, then a short break for a few months before we get back into it and defend our State Title in November 🏁🏁🏁

Last race event for this season - hopefully this one goes ahead, would be great to finally get to race at Western Sydney Speedway 🏁

We are off to Illabo Motorsports Park for the first time 🏁🏎️✅

**NOMINATIONS OPEN**

With last weekends first Round of the Winter Series lost due to weather, we have been offered a rescheduled date at Illabo Motorsport Park which will enable us to still run this event, ahead of Round 2 back at Western Sydney Speedway on 23rd August.

This two round mini-series will wrap up racing for the 2025/26 season, as we eye off our AGM and Annual Presentation in early September.

In another first, the NSW GP Midget Club will travel to Illabo and we thank Terry Clarke & Illabo Motorsports Park for the opportunity.

The event is also open to any VGPMRA members who might like the chance to travel up and have a skid with us before next season gets underway.

If all drivers could nominate below with your car number, by 6pm Monday 27th July please.

Details as follows;

8th Aug 2026, 7:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Illabo Motorsport Park, Illabo Showground Rd, Illabo NSW 2590.

GP MIDGETS, ALL VINTAGE CLASSES, PLUS JUNIOR AND SENIORS KARTS.

Gates open: 7:30am for ENTRANTS, 9:30am for Spectators.
Cafe Service commences: 8:00am
Volunteers Briefing: 8:45am
Drivers Briefing: 9:15am
Events commence: 10:00am

With the early start, camping at the track will be possible on the Friday night.

Next racing season, will mark 10 years that TGR has been competing in Speedway and with NSW GP Midgets. It’s been quite a wild ride….

The original plan was to have some fun for “a couple of years”.

We started out with the first little red rocket #6, it took us to our first Super Series Championship.

Some encouragement initially from Paul Perry & then from Luke Geelan (Shore Hire) saw us decide to upgrade our equipment and eventually we obtained the Green Machine #67. This new combination helped Adam achieve a Victorian GP Midget Title & another Super Series championship.

Wally Kermond then made his Blue #14 available for Adam to drive and we cracked a runner-up result in the Australian GP Midget Title.

Now, having recently acquired Black Beauty from Gary Bowyer, the #67 (NSW 1) immediately resulted in a victory in the NSW GP Midget Title and another runner-up in the Australian GP Midget Title this season.

It’s been an amazing journey, with some incredible support along the way from sponsors, family and friends. The assistance, support & guidance from Wally Kermond has been invaluable. Gary Bowyer & White Ant Racing have also been right in our corner and just shows what a brilliant race Club we belong too, where even the fiercest of competitors step in and help each other out. After all, that’s what mates do….
