Race Wrap - 08/05/26
Last Friday night saw a total of 10 drivers roll up for another night of great racing that featured Classic Sportscars, RevoSlot GT & Open GT.
Classic Sportscars were up 1st on Hellcat Pass with 7 drivers sharing the 10 heat wins on offer including Bazza, Professor, Brett, Woodstock, Guru, Dodgie & Tony.
Professor took the overall victory taking 3 heat wins & a 2nd place finish to finish 1.5 laps ahead of Guru who finished with 2 heat wins & a 2nd place finish.
Woodstock took the final podium position with 1 heat win & 3 second place finishes to be just over a lap behind Guru.
Tony drove like a gentleman which probably cost him a podium finish after taking 1 heat win & 2 second place finishes as he was only 0.06 of a lap behind Woodstock.
Brett put together a good run to finish just behind Tony & just ahead of Alby who lead Bazza, Dodgie, Bruce & Allen took the chequered flag.
RevoSlot GT were next up on Hellcat Pass & saw some of the best racing we've seen.
Again there were numerous heat winners including Professor, Dodgie, Guru, Woodstock, Brett, Allen & Bazza.
There were many close finishes with multiple drivers finishing on the lead lap & surprisingly minimal carnage.
Although Professor took 3 heat wins, Guru snagged the overall victory with a single heat win & 3 second place finishes to finish just over a lap ahead of Professor.
Dodgie took a single heat win & 2 second place finishes to take the final podium position only 0.31 of a lap behind Professor.
Allen put in a great drive to take 2 heat wins & finish only 0.12 of a lap off the podium to finish ahead of Bazza, Tony, Alby, Woodstock, Brett & Bruce.
2nd to 6th were covered by only half a lap while 7th to 9th were separated by only a quarter of a lap.
Probably one of the closest overall results we've ever seen.
The night concluded with Open GT & saw Guru, Alby, Bazza, Woodstock, Dodgie & Professor feature in the heat winners list.
Guru secured the overall win with a clean sweep of heat victories to finish just over 4 laps ahead of Woodstock who finished with 1 heat win & 3 second place finishes while Alby managed 2 heat wins to finish in the final podium position just over half a lap behind Woodstock.
Bazza finished best of the rest only a quarter of a lap off the podium after taking 1 heat win & 1 2nd place finish & lead Dodgie, Brett, Tony, Allen, Bruce & Professor to the chequered flag.
Professor had some technical gremlins with his Porsche that hindered his progress in his first 3 heats.
Thank-you to all those who contributed to a great night of racing including Bruce who made the trek down from Toowoomba again.
This week racing will be held on Thursday night instead of Friday night.
