🖤 AN IMPORTANT LIGHTS OUT UPDATE 🖤
Hi Everyone,

As most of you know, I finished my last job at the beginning of August and there’s been very little work available, so I’ve taken a job for a bit...in Sydney!

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR DANCING:
Thanks to our rock star support team, our sessions will continue! Fi & Rhi in BROADBEACH and Kris, Jayne & Rach's, at RUNAWAY BAY will be keep dancing!!

WHAT'S CHANGING:
We'll be reverting to our winter schedule of fortnightly dancing so the team can fit hosting around their busy lives. There may be the odd extra change or cancellation, but they're committed to keeping you dancing!

NEW SCHEDULE:
Next week – RUNAWAY BAY (29 Oct)
The following – BROADBEACH (3 Nov)
Then alternating for the final 3 sessions for 2026! 😱

Come on, you know you're going to dance anyway, as if you wouldn't! 😂 So lock it in on Sunday night while planning your week!

We've had 15–20 dancers at BROADBEACH lately (fantastic!), but most bookings come after 5pm. This makes it nerve-racking for the team wondering if the session will go ahead.

For this time, I need to introduce a booking/cancel policy to support the team, so fewer than 5 bookings by 5pm on dance day means the session will be cancelled and tickets transferred to the following week.

Book early, and give our wonderful volunteers the motivation to get their dancing gear on! 💃🏼

I'll keep curating your playlists and doing the behind-the-scenes work. They'll deliver the fun!

A HUGE thank you to Fi, Rhi, Kris, Jayne and Rach. You're absolute stars and I can’t express my gratitude in words! 🥰 And to everyone who's offered to help the teams, THANK YOU. We really do have the greatest dancing community this side of the sun!

Sadly, I'm hitting the road tomorrow and will miss saying bye to most. 😭

I'll miss you all immensely. Dancing with you at both locations is the highlight of my week.

Free to let go, sing too loudly, throw our arms around like we just don't care and dance however the music makes us feel. No worrying about who's watching. No comparing ourselves to anyone else. No pressure to get it right.

Just great tunes, a room full of good humans and that feeling when you completely lose yourself in the music. ⚡️

Where's the freedom to pull test your best daggy dance moves? The dramatic hair flips? The completely off-beat arm choreography? The singing at the top of your lungs when you only know half the words? 🤣

At Lights Out, we switch off the lights so you can switch off your brain, lose yourself in the music and dance like nobody's watching. Because nobody needs to see what you're doing with your arms. 🖤

🫶🏼 DANCING WITH YOU IS SUCH A GIFT 💝

Dance is a gift. So are the people you dance with. You are all a gift to me because I get to dance with you. 🖤

It's so easy to get caught up in the usual routine. Work, family, chores, all the things that need doing. And somewhere in amongst all that adulting, we forget to make time for the things that make us feel GOOD.

One of my favourite things about Lights Out is watching people arrive carrying the weight of their week and leave smiling, sweaty and with a whole lot more energy than they came with. 😂

The lights go out, the music kicks in and suddenly everyone's singing, throwing their arms in the air and dancing like nobody's watching. Because nobody is! Everyone's in their own little world, but we're all in it together. And there's something pretty special about that.

If it's been a while since you've joined us, come and find that feeling again. Bring a mate, come on your own or drag along someone who could do with a little less adulting and a lot more dancing.
