Most people fall off not because they lack potential, but because they misunderstand the process.

They expect motivation to carry them.
They expect perfect weeks.
They expect linear progress.

But real progress doesn’t look like that.

It looks like 👇
Showing up when you don’t feel like it
Executing when motivation is low
Staying consistent even when results feel slow

Because here’s the truth,

Action creates motivation, not the other way around.

When you rely on motivation,
You show up inconsistently
You attach effort to emotion
You stall your progress

But when you rely on structure and habit,
You remove decision fatigue
You build momentum
You create predictable progress

Motivation is unreliable. Systems are not.

And this is where most people get stuck and give up.

They think a bad day = failure
When in reality, it’s just part of the process.

The people who succeed don’t avoid bad days, they just don’t let them dictate their actions.

So instead of asking,
“Do I feel motivated today?”

Start asking:
“What does my plan require of me today?”

That shift alone changes everything.

Stop chasing this if your goal is hypertrophy

Tempo.

You probably read that and thought, here we fu***ng go, however as a coach, I continue to see people put too much emphasis on tempo over intensity, thinking that it’s the holy grail for muscle growth.

While tempo is a valuable tool for standardising technique and limiting injury, there is no difference in hypertrophy between performing a rep with slow eccentrics or faster eccentrics, provided the set is completed close to failure.

Motor unit recruitment and the force-velocity relationship differ between eccentric and concentric contractions. This means that similar force is produced in an eccentric contraction regardless of velocity, but a greater time under tension can be achieved by slowing the eccentric tempo.

A key takeaway is that both methods have application when used together. However, focussing solely on the slow repetition speed rather than the intended purpose of the set may be the reason for your training stagnation.

Tempo queens, the data does not lie.

Routine builds growth

Over these last 5 years, I cannot tell you how many times I have repeatedly explained the rationale behind my routine and lifestyle choices. This includes the consistent training and meal times, as well as the diligent structure that enables me to consistently show up.

Many will view this lifestyle as selfish without considering the underlying reasons for the individual’s decisions.

This lifestyle was never without challenges, including periods of lack of drive, ambition and purpose. It was this awareness and shift in mindset that ultimately provided me with a sense of purpose and motivation to follow my dreams.

My daily routine may appear straightforward, but this prioritisation of health enables me to provide the best version of myself in the future. This allows me to positively impact the lives of many individuals who have experienced self-doubt, struggle and a loss of motivation.

Regardless of your current circumstances or the level of understanding others have for your lifestyle, prioritise your well-being. When you do, your capacity to provide your best version to others will be significantly greater.

STOP OVER COMPLICATING SUPPLEMENTATION

Now if you know me well, you’d know that I’m a human pharmacy when it comes to supplementation (With good reason of course), however, it’s inevitable that supplement industry wants you to believe you need 15+ products to see results.

The reality? You don’t.

If you’re going to spend money on supplements, spend it on the ones backed by decades of research, not marketing.

For educational purposes only, the supplements are my non negotiables are:

Creatine Monohydrate – the gold standard for strength, power and muscle growth ✅
Whey Protein – a convenient way to help meet your daily protein target ✅
Magnesium Glycinate – supports recovery, sleep quality and muscle function ✅
Fish Oil (Omega-3) – supports cardiovascular, brain and overall health ✅
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) – a powerful antioxidant that supports glutathione production and liver health ✅
Caffeine – one of the most effective ergogenic aids for improving performance, focus and reducing fatigue ✅
Vitamin D3 + K2 – supports immune function, bone health and cardiovascular health ✅

Remember though, supplements supplement a good diet, they don’t replace one.

Prioritise your:
Nutrition 🥩
Training 🏋️
Sleep 😴
Daily movement🚶
Hydration 💧

Once those foundations are in place, these supplements can help fill the gaps and give you that extra edge.

Which supplement do you never go without? 👇

Stop making fat loss harder than it needs to be.

The fitness industry loves to convince you that you need the latest supplement, detox, or “fat-burning” hack.

You don’t.

The people who get the best results are usually the ones who master the basics and repeat them consistently.

Eat enough protein to preserve muscle and stay fuller for longer ✅
Walk more throughout the day to increase energy expenditure ✅
Prioritise sleep so you can recover, perform, and regulate hunger ✅
Stay hydrated ✅
Lift weights consistently ✅
Learn to manage stress ✅

None of these are flashy.

But together, they create an environment where fat loss becomes far more sustainable.

You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be consistent.

Which one of these habits do you need to improve the most? Let me know below. 👇
