The vast majority of players will make their Pro debuts from the bench.
And you wont earn a start before you make an impact as substitute....
But making an impact coming off the bench can be TOUGH.
Here are 3 tips to help you.
1- Belive. A lot of players struggle to make an impact off the bench because it feels like their coach dosen't believe in them, at least not as much as the starters. That might be true. But he is trusting you now. Not only that but you are forgetting that once you get your chance it doesn't matter who believes in you,or dosen't, as long as you believe in yourself.
2- Relax. You may only have 10 minutes, but that doesn't mean you run around like crazy person and try to do something incredible every time you get the ball. Relax use your energy, but dont try to force things. Make good desitions. Play your game.
3- Pick your moment. It will come, and you need to be ready. You wont get the chance to do something incredible every time you get the ball, but you will have the chance to do something that shows how great of a player you are. The chance to take a 1v1 , shoot, tackle, or split the defense with an incredible pass.Dont let that chance pass you by. You dont guarantee success by taking risks, but you guarantee failure if you dont.
