The 2026 Queensland Country Rugby Championships return to Townsville from 26 June to 1 July, delivering a week of top-tier representative rugby. Players will compete for selection in the Queensland Country Orchids, Junior Orchids, Heelers and Junior Heelers squads.
After Townsville provided a spectacular northern backdrop in 2025, we look forward to welcoming you back—whether you’re at the grounds or tuning in via livestream—to experience all the action in 2026.

Proudly introducing the Harvey Norman Coach, Match Official and Club Person of the month campaign. The introduction of this volunteer recognition program aims to recognise and celebrate the people who embody the values that define our game and whose commitment helps rugby thrive at every level. Each month, individuals will be nominated by players, club members, members of the public and member unions across Australia, with one standout coach, match official and club person recognised nationally for their impact on the game. These recipients represent the very best of rugby’s values and the strength of our community. Nominations for April open tomorrow, Wednesday April 1 at 9:00am AEST. We’re back this year for the Buildcorp Australian Schools and Junior Rugby Union Championships!

This July, over 50 state and territory sides from across the country will go head to head on Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast, all competing to be crowned national champions in both XVs and 7s.

A big thank you to Buildcorp, the naming rights sponsor of the Championships, for their continued support of pathway and development rugby for youth boys and girls.

The action kicks off Sunday 5 July and runs through to Friday 10 July. Stay tuned for more details!
