Griffith University Squash Society - GUSS GC

Hello everyone!

We hope you are all keeping well!

Games for 2020 have not started yet as affiliation is still being organised with the Student Guild at Griffith University. Due to the recent events regarding COVID-19 and recommendations from governing bodies across Queensland, we will not be starting any GUSS games until after everything has settled down (unfortunately, this may take a few months). Although it would be great to start having a hit, our top priority is everyone’s safety and well-being. With this in mind, reducing the risk of infection and transmission of COVID-19 is paramount. We will let you know when games will be up and running again.

For those that have already paid the annual membership, we apologise for the inconvenience. To compensate, we are happy to waive the cost for another year :)

Avoid big crowds and don’t forget your hand hygiene! If you are playing squash in the near future, make sure to use hand sanitiser before and after games, and avoid shaking hands with other players.

We look forward to starting up again soon, so keep an eye on the page!

Hey everyone,

We want to say a massive thank you for the support we’re receiving for this page and our society as a whole.

To get our society started, we’re thinking of holding our first unofficial game night on Thursday the 26th (next week) for official members and those looking to join.

You can come have a hit on the courts for free from 4pm to 6pm, snacks will be provided of course. Just bring yourselves, equipment is free for hire. We’d love to meet you all and have some fun.

Welcome to the Griffith University Squash Society based on the Gold Coast!

The Griffith University Squash Society (GUSS) was founded to promote health and wellbeing for students, alumni and the public community whom are acquainted or new to the sport of squash. We are focused on providing a sociable environment; players of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate.

The society's activity schedule is organised for games once weekly; members have access to both social and competitive games. Our society proudly supports local businesses; training will be held at Southport Squash Club, a local club that holds valuable sport virtues. Free coaching and equipment supplied by the Southport Squash Club owner is provided with membership.

The society is always open to include new members, anytime of the year. Please do not hesitate to contact the founders for more information!
