Little feet, big feelings π«ΆπΌ π§
One of the key focuses in our kids yoga classes is talking about emotions and developing emotional regulation. In this class we explored a variety of emotions where each child randomly chose an emotion card and shared how that emotion might feel in our bodies. We then brainstormed together ways to handle those feelings with some suggestions being taking a breath, talking to someone, giving a hug, drawing a picture, sharing happiness and practicing gratitude ππΌ
This process not only boosts emotional awareness but helps children to recognise their feelings and equips them with strategies to manage them. The beginning of a beautiful journey fostering emotional intelligence and resilience in our little onesβ¨

Yoga burritos is always a favourite π―
Children wrapping themselves in a yoga mat is a great way to start wrapping up a yoga class. It brings lots of laughs and is amazing to see how much joy this position brings them. When they are cozily wrapped up they feel snug, safe and find calmness.

After 7 years of kids yoga for our not so little man who started when he was still in nappies, itβs undeniable how valuable yoga and mindfulness is in helping shape who they become π«
Yoga embodies core values that contribute to personal growth and wellbeing such as compassion, integrity, gratitude and acceptance. By honouring yourself and others, you cultivate a deeper sense of respect and connection in all areas of life π
Our kids yoga classes start from age 2 π§Έ

As you introduce your children to the world of yoga, itβs crucial that their teachers are appropriately trained π§ββοΈ
Kids bodies are still growing and developing, which means they have unique needs when it comes to movement and physical activity. Specially trained kids yoga teachers can adapt poses to prevent injuries and ensure a safe environment for exploration on their yoga journey πͺ π
Parents and carers need to be asking what qualifications their kids yoga teachers hold. There are many short kids yoga courses, and even some kids yoga teachers practicing without any specialised training, but the minimum requirement for a kids yoga teacher to be REGISTERED is a Level 1 yoga certification PLUS a 95hr kids yoga certification!
Just as educators, sports teachers, and physiotherapists undergo extensive training to meet the unique needs of children, so too should your childβs yoga teacher π
Investing in specially trained kids yoga teachers not only enriches their yoga experience but also ensures that your children receive the best possible foundation for a lifelong journey of movement and mindfulness ππΌ

Pigeon pose (Kapotasana) π¦ the ultimate hip opener!!
This pose offers relief by stretching your lower back and hips while also increasing flexibility of the hip flexors and lower back muscles.
As the hip region is where emotions (especially stress and anger or other suppressed feelings) are stored, pigeon pose can help alleviate these emotions. Itβs not uncommon performing this pose to feel strong emotions arise and then be released, promoting a sense of freedom and openness ππΌ ππΌ
