Are you an Occupational Therapist looking for something a little different?

Gold Coast Sports Hub in Clear Island Waters is looking for OTs to join its growing Allied Health team.

This is a one-of-a-kind facility bringing Allied Health, inclusive movement, sport, green space, food and community together in one accessible location.

Practitioners will be working from an Allied Health setting with access to specialised, inclusive exercise equipment designed to support people of all abilities.

The opportunity offers:
• Flexible working arrangements
• Varied caseload
• Multi-disciplinary team environment
• Accessible Allied Health rooms
• Specialised inclusive exercise equipment
• PlayAbleSPORTS / inclusive movement program
• Green space and sporting facilities
• Clients of all abilities, including NDIS participants

This could be a great fit for a Physio or OT who wants to work in a practical, movement-focused and community-based environment.

Curious about Walking Football? Come and give it a go. ⚽

As part of October’s Active Inclusion Program Community of Practice, being held at Gold Coast Sports Hub in Clear Island Waters, there’ll be a Walking Football demonstration and Come & Try session from 11:45am–12:30pm on Thursday 22 October.

The Community of Practice brings together sports clubs, physical activity providers, recreation providers, Allied Health professionals and community advocates to share ideas and explore more inclusive opportunities across sport and recreation.

For the Walking Football session, our regular players will be there to demonstrate the game, and attendees will be encouraged to step onto the field and have a go.

We’d also love to welcome members of the public who have been thinking about trying Walking Football for themselves.

⚽ A big shout-out to our Walking Football Queensland players! 👏

Congratulations to all the men and women who represented Queensland at the inaugural WFFA Cup Australian Walking Football Championship in Sydney over the weekend!

🏆 A special congratulations to the Queensland Maroon Men's Over 50s team, who topped their division! Fantastic effort and great to see one of our Gold Coast Sports Hub regulars among the team!

Well done to all the teams who competed. With some pretty hot conditions to contend with, it was a terrific effort from everyone!

Best of luck to everyone representing Queensland at the inaugural WFFA Cup Australian Walking Football Championship at Cromer Park this weekend! ⚽

We’re looking forward to showcasing Gold Coast Sports Hub later this month.

Gold Coast Recreation & Sport Inc. October Active Inclusion Program Community of Practice will be held here at the Hub, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the facility, hear more about the vision for its future and see some of the inclusive spaces and equipment in action.

For us, it’s a great opportunity to show how the Hub brings together sporting facilities, Allied Health, PLAYAble SPORTS, indoor and outdoor spaces, green space and community-focused facilities all in one place.

We’re looking forward to welcoming attendees and sharing more about what’s already here and where the Hub is heading next.

A little look back at a fantastic day at Gold Coast Sports Hub on 2nd August, when we hosted the Football Queensland South Coast Girls United Carnival. ⚽

With young girls out on the field, bright colours, hair ribbons, fairy floss, a barbecue and plenty of energy, it was a great day celebrating girls in football.

It’s always special to see so many young players enjoying the game, building confidence and being part of such a positive football environment.

At Gold Coast Sports Hub, we love seeing football bring people together across all ages and stages of life, from young girls just starting out, to women finding their way back into the game later on.

Here’s to more girls in football, more women in football and more opportunities to stay involved in the game for the long run.

And if you’re a woman who used to play and have been thinking about getting back into the game, our Walking Football community would love to welcome you too. ⚽

P.S. Walking Football is on tomorrow night from 6:30-7:30pm if you’ve been thinking about giving it a go. New faces are always welcome.
