Playful dog is a great way to support excess energy in children.

Strengthens the arms and core, stretches the back, supports regulation through movement and breath.
Perfect for a classroom transition to encourage focus or afterschool when they need to release built up energy from the day also a fab warm up for your kids yoga class.

This term in our yoga programs, we’re doing more than just yoga ✨

Children are learning about their bodies in ways that feel safe, playful and empowering.

Through movement, breath, mindfulness, games and connection, children are learning:

• about their body systems
• ways to calm busy minds
• building confidence
• posture and back strength to support growing bodies
• how breath, movement and the body work together

In a world where many children are feeling overwhelmed these classes give them tools they can actually use in everyday life 💛

The way we present a yoga space to children really matters, because it shapes how safe, calm, and open they feel as they walk in.

A thoughtfully prepared space with gentle lighting, soft music, inviting activites and a sense of warmth helps their nervous system settle and signals that this is a place where they belong.

When the environment feels inviting and predictable, children are more likely to relax, participate, and connect with themselves and others.

Exploring friendship and belonging in yoga this week 🤍
After our back-to-back breathing practice, the children wrote these beautiful “magic messages” to their friends, words of kindness, encouragement, and care.

Moments like this gently build emotional intelligence, helping children feel seen, safe, and connected. When children feel a sense of belonging, they naturally open their hearts to others.

Through simple practices of connection and safety, we’re supporting children to grow into kind, confident humans ✨

This week we have been exploring a fun partner activity called Mirror Hands with a tennis

Where one child leads slow hand movements while holding the ball, and the other mirrors as closely as possible.

This playful activity supports coordination, focus, and body awareness, while also building connection and teamwork. The slow, mindful movements gently calm the nervous system, helping children practice presence, patience, and emotional regulation through play.

Can you give it a go at home?

Consent tokens in kids yoga help children build autonomy by giving them choice over their bodies. They learn to set boundaries, listen to their feelings, and communicate their needs reinforcing that their body belongs to them and their voice matters. They have a choice.

These beautiful quslity tokens are from 🙏🫶

This term in our school yoga classes we have been exploring emotions and how they feel in the body.

Through yoga, breathing, visualisation meditations and mindfulness, children are learning to recognise their feelings and practise simple tools to help when emotions feel big.

We explore questions like:
How does worry feel in the body?
What helps our body feel calm again?

In our sessions children practise:
• calming breath techniques
• yoga poses to release tension
• visualisation meditations to feel safe and relaxed
• mindful pauses to notice their feelings

These simple skills help children build emotional awareness, calm their nervous system and grow confidence tools they can use at school, at home and in everyday life.

How amazing is that!!
