Last day in Florida = absolutely nailed it ๐ŸŒดโ˜€๏ธ

We made our way to St Petersburgh and spent the day at the unreal Fort De Soto Beach ๐Ÿ๏ธ โ€” a hidden gem recommended by Phil, a legend we randomly met at Aldi ๐Ÿ˜‚

Crystal clear blue-green water, endless white sand, touch footy, sandcastles, and refreshing swims๐Ÿ‘Œ Safe to say the kids forgot all about their plans to spend the day indoors pretty quickly.

If youโ€™re ever around Tampa, this spot is 100% worth the trip ๐Ÿ™Œ

Many of our athletes compete at high levels across multiple sports and Nylah Goble-Lote is one of these talented superstars. Recently competing at the Australian Junior Championships she totally killed it and achieved

U18 Australian Hammer Champ ๐Ÿ…
U20 Australian Hammer 2nd ๐Ÿฅˆ

She now heads to the Oceania Championships where she will represent Australia. Good luck Nylah, we are super proud of you! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿ’ช

TROPICAL 7s 2026 ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ†

What an experience ๐Ÿ˜

Back in 2020, we were all packed and ready to attend Tropical 7s before COVID shut the world down. So finally getting the opportunity to take the Renegades over to Tampa this year made this trip pretty special from the start.

And the event absolutely delivered.

Tropical 7s has grown into one of the biggest rugby festivals in the world โ€” over 200 teams from across North America and around the globe competing across multiple age groups in a professionally run international tournament environment. Elite talent everywhere you looked. Scouts. College programs. International pathways. Rugby everywhere. ๐Ÿ‰

For our athletes, this trip was always about more than results.

One of the biggest goals was to expose these young players to the opportunities rugby can create outside of Australia. Not every athlete is going to pull on the green and goldโ€ฆ but that doesnโ€™t mean the journey ends there.

The global rugby community is HUGE.

US colleges. Overseas academies. Professional development programs. Rugby scholarships. International competitions. Opportunities to travel the world while studying and playing the game you love.

And our athletes certainly opened some eyes over there ๐Ÿ‘€

We were honestly swamped by scouts and program representatives wanting to speak with players immediately โ€” offering opportunities to join programs THIS YEAR with pathways where rugby, education, accommodation, and development are all supported. Living and breathing rugby every day.

Thatโ€™s powerful for young athletes to see firsthand.

And to come to a tournament like this on debut and leave with ONE trophy wouldโ€™ve been incredibleโ€ฆ

But to win BOTH divisions we entered - U16 Boys and U18 Girls, AND have both teams go through undefeated all weekend?

Thatโ€™s next level awesome. ๐Ÿ’ช

The standard was fierce across every division and there were no easy games. Every match demanded effort, connection, resilience, and composure under pressure.

The memories, lessons, friendships, and opportunities created on this tour will stay with these athletes for life.

Massive thank you to Tropical 7s for putting on an unbelievable event and creating such an incredible international rugby experience. Weโ€™ll definitely be back ๐ŸŒŽโค๏ธ๐Ÿ‰

And to our players, coaches, families, supporters, and sponsors โ€” thank you for believing in what weโ€™re building.

The future is bright โœจ

HK INTERNATIONAL YOUTH 10s U16 BOYS CHAMPIONS ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŒ

A group of boys from 8 different rugby union and rugby league clubs across the Gold Coast came together to compete up an age group in the U16 division against quality international oppositionโ€ฆ and brought the trophy back to the Gold Coast!

Their journey wasnโ€™t straightforward.

They lost to the eventual Grand Final opponents in the pool rounds. Preparation leading into the tournament was far from ideal, with school, club commitments, injuries, travel, and all the conflicting priorities that come with sport. Yet somehow, when the pressure was highest and their backs were against the wall, they found something extra.

Down a player with a yellow card in the Grand Final, they refused to fold. They fought for each other, defended for each other, and dug deeper than they probably thought possible to come away with the win and be crowned HKY10s U16 Champions. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿ’ช

Thatโ€™s the special thing about rugby.

It brings people together from different schools, clubs, backgrounds, and experiences. Boys who were almost strangers weeks earlier became brothers over the course of a tournament. Rugby has a way of building connection, resilience, trust, and mateship unlike any other game. It teaches young people how to work for something bigger than themselves โ€” how to sacrifice, grind, and stay together when things get hard.

This team showed what can happen when individuals commit to each other.

No excuses. No shortcuts. Just heart, effort, connection, and belief.

Massive thank you to the families, supporters, coaches, sponsors, and clubs who backed this opportunity and helped these boys experience international rugby and create memories thatโ€™ll stay with them forever.

This is what rugby is all about โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‰

Put your hands together ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘for TK who has been selected in the QLD U16 Rugby League team following a strong performance at the QLD State Champs in Gladstone. We spotted TK playing South Coast 7s in her maiden season of rugby less than 12 months ago and snapped her up in our program. A talented athlete with crazy skills, fantastic decision making and a coachable attitude, we knew it would not be long before TK was noticed on the big stage. Unable to join us in HK due to an injury, her decision to focus on her recovery for the league event (despite the major fomo) was a mature and wise one to make and her achievements this week have confirmed that. Super proud of you TK and this year is going to be a busy one for you! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’ช

Make some noise for the VENGA BOYS!! ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿฝ๐ŸŽถThis was a huge highlight of the HK 7s. ๐Ÿ˜ Even our kids who have never heard of them were dancing their little hearts out!! The crowd was pumping and the atmosphere was insane.

U18 Girls โ€” Champions at Tropical 7s in Florida! ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ‰

Undefeated all tournament, but it was anything but easy. We faced some seriously competitive matches and had two key players pick up injuries in the semi that put them in doubt for the Grand Final.

Thanks to a well-timed break before the GF, the girls dug deep โ€” getting treatment, resetting, and coming back ready to go.

What followed was something special. Quality skills, strong connection, and the bravery to take risks when it mattered most saw them rise to the occasion and take down the reigning champions. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ‡

Proud is an understatement. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ˜

Congratulations to Renegades athletes Ariaana Te Hau and Teuila-Tuugavao Soe who were selected in the U14 Girls Aotearoa NZ Maori Rugby League team following their participation in the ANZMRL Teina Kลtiro Tournament in Taranaki, NZ. They will head over to Auckland to play in the Tuakana Tournament in October. These young ladies are extremely talented athletes who have an exciting future ahead of them. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿซถ

And the U14sโ€ฆ. They also went through the tournament undefeated and did not concede any points!! The skill they displayed in the grand final was sensational to watch and even had commentator Alicia Quirk in awe. They scored 32 unanswered points in the GF against the best team in the HK competition and it was really special to watch the celebration with the Reneโ€™s U16 girls and boys when the final whistle blew. This team will be one to watch over the next few years as they make their way through the youth pathways. Some future international players for sure! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’ช
