Congratulations, Ryan for being selected to attend this years SLSA Leaders Masterclass 🙌🏼

The SLSA Leaders Masterclass is a specially designed workshop focusing on building skills for anyone with a volunteer management role in SLS. There are approximately 30 members from across the country chosen to attend per season. The program is run in conjunction with the University of South Australia focusing on strategic thinking and direction and is held in July.

This season, the Branch was fortunate enough to have three representatives chosen to participate.

Congratulations to Ben Hicks (Coolangatta SLSC), Sarah Baldwin (Rainbow Bay SLSC) and Ryan Fulton (Pacific SLSC) on being chosen as three of only four Queensland representatives to attend in 2026.

For the past five years, Madie has been a valued part of the Pacific SLSC family, always bringing the biggest smile and reliability to everything she does.

From supporting our athletes at training and keeping everyone organised, to helping our surf sports program run smoothly, Madie is always there with a positive attitude and a willingness to lend a hand. Her dedication behind the scenes helps create an environment where our athletes can thrive.

Thanks for everything you do, Madie. Your hard work, enthusiasm and friendly nature help make Pacific the welcoming, supportive club it is today, and we’re excited to see all you’ll continue to achieve in your role as Surf Sports Officer 🤎💙💛

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙊𝙪𝙧 𝙈𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨! 🌊

Every club needs someone who keeps everything ticking over behind the scenes, and we’re lucky to have Kerri doing exactly that.

Although she’s only been with Pacific for a year, she’s already become such an important part of our club. Always approachable, organised and happy to help, Kerri has jumped into the Administrator role with both feet and has embraced everything that comes with it.

What she loves most about Pacific is the people. The sense of community and the dedication of our volunteers are what make this club so special, and it’s something she’s passionate about being part of.

If you’re new to Pacific, Kerri’s advice is simple: get involved, say yes to new opportunities and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Before you know it, you’ll feel right at home.

𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙 𝘿𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝘿𝙖𝙮

More than 300,000 people drown every year. Anyone can drown, no one should. This July 25, we’re doing our part.

This global advocacy event serves as an opportunity to highlight the tragic and profound impact of drowning on families and communities and offer life-saving solutions to prevent it.

Here’s how you can stay safe around water:
• Always supervise children in, on and around water.
• Learn swimming, water safety and lifesaving skills.
• Wear a lifejacket when boating, rock fishing or paddling.
• Swim at a patrolled beach between the red and yellow flags.
• Avoid alcohol and drugs around water.

Don’t forget to visit Beachsafe.org before heading to the beach.
