Our job is to find and solve problems.
Be mindful if you’re always looking for what’s wrong rather than what’s right.

Our brains are wired to notice threats...it’s how we’ve survived as a species.
But in today’s world, that same habit can quietly drain our energy, creativity, and joy at work.
Positive psychology helps us see what’s working, what’s possible, and what’s within our control.
When leaders and teams train their brains to look for the positive, they unlock measurable gains in performance, resilience, and connection.
That’s the science of The Happiness Advantage.

What did I draw on the clinic whiteboard today?
We laugh about my terrible drawings.
They are not R rated despite me walking back into my room thinking that looks 😳
Hint: there are 4 separate drawings there from 3 consults.

What invisible work do you do?
I was thinking what I do in practice..
I’m always looking ahead at the schedule trying to anticipate our needs so we have enough stock.
I get frustrated when I go to dispense medication and we’ve run out or it’s on back order.
What cases have we seen over the last few days or week, that’s becoming more common?
If meds are on back order, what do we need instead?
This week was skin, ears, bandages and tick paralysis cases. 😢

Doubt is not the enemy of high performance. It’s the companion that shows up every time you step into something bigger.
When Sachin Tendulkar played his first Test match at 16, he walked off the field thinking, “This level isn’t for me.”
He didn’t push those doubts away. He stayed in the game long enough to adapt. It’s the same when you move into a new role, lead a new team, or scale, your business. The pressure increases, the scoreboard shouts, more people are watching. Doubt creeps in.
But the ones who succeed aren’t the ones without doubt. They’re the ones who keep moving, learning, adjusting—and over time, they grow into the role.
High performance isn’t about eliminating the noise.
It’s about learning to perform through it.

Criticism is sticky. Praise isn't.
Our brains hold on to critiques.
What that means: We need to be very deliberate and intentional in how we deliver it.
Four research backed ways to do so better are in this great article by Steve Magness.
What Makes Criticism So Sticky? - The Growth Equation
On why criticism lingers (and it doesn't even have to be over something meaningful) and what to do about it.

Today is the last day of the ASAV Conference on the Gold Coast.
Conferences are always a great way to increase your knowledge but don’t forget the importance of reconnecting with colleagues, meeting new colleagues and the trade exhibition. Reps are a great source of knowledge about their products but also the industry.
The days are long starting with breakfast at 7am, a full day of lectures, happy hour and the functions. I definitely need some sleep and a detox!
This morning I went for a walk on the beach which was so nice.
My bag is too full of pens, pads, info for the practice and lollies for the kids and treats for Millie.
If you’re here at the conference, say hello.
