📣 FQ ACADEMY LEAGUE Girls UPDATE

Tomorrow night we are hosting an information night for anyone interested in playing academy girls in 2027 or 2028 for the first time. At the clubhouse from 6 to 7:15pm with our Head TD Juliano, Head of Female Football Dakota and President Paul.

In 2027 we will have FQ Academy League Girls in Under 11,12,13,14,15,16 and 18. The fees for Under 16s and 18s will be reduced to ensure the success of our teams in these age groups.

SEASON UPDATE
⚽️ Our 14s finished their home and away season in 3rd, with a last round 3:3 draw with North Lakes. They play their Semi-final on the 12th or 13th of September.
⚽️ Our 13s finished their season with a 1-0 heartwarming win over Pine Hills.
⚽️ Our 12s and 11s have 1 round to go on Sunday 6 September.

Keep an eye out for Academy and Pre-Academy selection trials for 2027 in October as we add 3 more teams to our academy roster: Under 15s, 16s, and 18s. Trial dates and an EOI will be posted.

With the final home and away round yesterday we now have a weekend off before FINALS with all 5 teams going through 🏆 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is a fantastic outcome with a lot of changes in personnel during the off-season.

Our 13s and 14s will play on Saturday morning 12 September. The other finals will be confirmed soon.

📣 Shout out to our Under 16 FQ Academy League Boys yesterday with a stunning 3-0 win over the undefeated SWQ Thunder in the final round in Toowoomba to confirm their place in the finals 🔥

3 players from our Under 16 JL team (Kai Baumann, Rafael Miller, and Luka Djuric) played, along with 1 of our Under 15 Boys (Miles Morrison) - the pathway at it's best 🤩

Unfortunately our FQPL 1 Under 23s bowed out of the finals yesterday with a 2-0 loss.

Our first year in FQPL 1, and a team full of 17 to 19 year olds and playing at the second highest Under 23s level in Queensland they did us proud 🔥

We can’t wait to see how the players develop in 2027.

We had 16 teams in 2026, over 100 players. Yesterday was the last scheduled match for our 6s and 7s. Don’t forget we have FRIDAY NIGHT FUN games this coming Friday to finish off the season after last Friday was a public holiday.

📣 As the season comes to an end for many of our teams this is a shout out to our Management Committee: 55+ years of RCFC management committee service between them.

The heart and soul of our club: they run everything in the background for our 1000+ players, 81 teams. They have routinely given 20+ hours a week during the season as volunteers. 50 weeks a year they are on the job to ensure things run as smoothly as possible for each season.

⭐️ Matt Bunn 10 years, General Committee Member, manages our LinkedIn page, Metro Women’s Coach.

In April we were joined by Arnon Yahav as a new General Committee member.
