When I realised what the 6 human needs were, everything changed.

I not only learned about what drove my actions,

But I recognised where I was spending my time on things that didn’t actually matter.

This allowed me to make more effective decisions on how I spent my time on my business and in my relationships.

This can be used in many contexts such as:

✅ Understanding how to keep people around based on their highest needs
✅ Creating more buy-in from employees because you know how to make them feel fulfilled
✅ How you use your calendar and distribute your time/tasks
A decision making compass: knowing what decisions align with what you truly value.

Emotional intelligence
Curiosity
Morale
Integrity
Cooperation
Generosity
Strength
Holism

Admittedly I’ve had times in my life where my priorities were skewed

I chased status, looks, money, recognition, many of these as a large representation of internal insecurity

You see I grew up a very shy kid. I was mostly isolating myself because I struggled to feel comfortable in social settings

I lacked a lot of self confidence and ability to assert myself in necessary situations

I spent a large part of my life without a good masculine role model, and as a byproduct I developed extremist ideas of what I thought a man was

I thought that shoving down emotions was deemed strong, that hard work alone was what represented a resourceful man, that being rigid with my approach to life would protect me and give me what I wanted.

Only to recognise that it just gave me more of the same, frustrating, in my head, sad, lonely and unfulfilling lifestyle.

And it’s very easy to adopt such mentalities, especially if you’ve grown up idolising certain characters on the internet who’s incentive is only to cash out, without questioning yourself what is right for you.

I eventually recognised (my truth) that honesty, clear communication, emotional control, good intentions, and ability to acknowledge emotions without thinking it’s an attack on your self esteem are also signs of massive strength..

and a real confidence to go and live true to oneself without the worry of what others may think.

That is what has become clear to me that strong men CAN do.

I look around to see people making this realisation and it makes me happy to see, where the mask of excessive ego and bravado are being seen through left and right.

And more opportunity to provide a space for one another, to heal and embody a version of ourselves that we truly resonate with is becoming more apparent.

Here’s to more true transformation.

Family matters ❤️

Never lose perspective 🙏

Stop OVER analysing❗️

Growing up I took too little action, and thought through things way too much.

This caused a lot of stress, anxiety, and shyness.

Start doing, and embrace the discomfort until it becomes the comfort zone.

Step into what you already know you’re capable of 👇

If you have the vision and knowingness, now it’s in your hands to go experience it.

Once you experience, you simply are.

I’m grateful for the hardships I had growing up.

The social isolation I experienced, the lack of strong father figures in my life, the emotional stresses from an unstable family environment, the lack of financial abundance and confidence within myself

All of these things allow me to truly appreciate what I have been able to create the last 10 years ✊

Working for myself, living location independent, being proud of the way I look, having a circle of people around me who provide the love I used to crave, and having the opportunity to continue to step into next levels

❗️There’s no reason you can’t do the same with your own life. It is truly in your hands.

PS: I’d love to hear your goal and next steps, comment them below 👇

❗️I have found that the more experienced with training you are, the less you need to do to build muscle.

There are multiple factors responsible for the growth you get in the gym:

1: Your ability to perform the exercies you do well
2: Your level of strength capacity with those exercises

In the beginning of my workout journey my most limiting factor was not my overall strength, but the skill of the exercises I wanted to perform.

Which required me to spend more time doing lower intensity sets to get sufficient form to feel natural to me.

Because the intensity was lower, I had to do more volume and use more time to get a better stimulus.

Over time as my skill improved, my capacity to utilise my real strength increased. Which resulted in a larger stimulus created in those sets.

For this reason I was able to get MORE out of less sets because my skill wasn’t the limiting factor anymore.

The following slide is an example of what training can look like over a longer period of time.

Earlier stages of training:
Workouts consisting of 5 sets of 5 reps. (low rep range to focus on technique with moderate loads)

Later stages of training:
3 sets of 8-10 reps for most exercises (less concern for technique breakdown, more focus on muscle stimulation)

In the later stages of training I didn’t need as many sets to get the same amount of stimulus compared to early days in the journey.

Training isn’t black and white, and there will always be reasons to justify why different training styles are more efficient.

So I always seek to take feedback in from people more experienced, but I also stay in tune with my body and what works well for me that is also enjoyable.

The enjoyability factor being included to consider longevity in the journey.

If this helped, feel free to share with a friend who could use more clarity on optimising for muscle gain.

Ran into on a whim and turned into a spontaneous podcast❗️

👉 Turns out she has her own hardships working through a brain tumour at a young age

When she decided to be open minded and vulnerable..

👉 people mostly wanted to help, support, and listen to what she has to say

❗️When we share our stories and own our hardships, it’s interesting how doorways seem to just open up and opportunities present themselves

👉 The same way new ideas presented themselves when Tegan was willing to share her story and challenges with self image

❗️If you want to hear her full story, breakthroughs, and follow her journey.. check out the entire episode on the YouTube channel (link in story)

Life by design!

How frustrating is it to be pulled in 20,000 directions being told all different things on how to live your life!

Whether it’s what to do with getting in shape or what direction to go in your career.

My experience:

👉 I listened to qualified people to get to a particular stage in my life, executed their advice til I got to a certain point

1️⃣ At this point I can easily maintain a shape im happy with
2️⃣ I don’t struggle with confidence issues the way I used to
3️⃣ And I live life on my own schedule and have the freedom to choose where I live (for the most part)

The interesting part:

👁 I find im at a point where I have to be a LOT MORE SELECTIVE on the mentors I choose, what sacrifices that will further require, and also if that’s something that I truly feel is right for me.

After the beginner phases of mentorship (where it’s a lot simpler to choose a path and just walk it to get any kind of progress)..

I have found that you have to filter out a lot more BS and stay more in tune with yourself if you want to walk your own path

⚠️ There are many ways to skin a cat, so which way will you choose? what are your strengths that you’re going to tap into to get there? And are you willing to go ALL IN on YOUR WAY of doing things to live a life by your own design?

There’s a reason why not many people walk that path, it can be full of uncertainty, and the only way to find out is to tread that path regardless of that feeling.
