Meet Miss Jemma! Miss Jemma is a fully qualified gymnastics coach and ex-gymnast who joined our Rise family at the start of the year. Now she's coming on board to share her wealth of knowledge with our acro students! Perhaps you'll see her in some aerial classes soon too.

Here is a little information about Miss Jemma. “I grew up in Townsville and started gymnastics at 10, quickly making my way onto to the competitive team for a few years before transitioning to coaching and judging.

In 2006 I moved to the Sunshine Coast and continued to coach gymnastics but decided to try some adult diving for fun. I received my coaching license and taught alongside gymnastics for a few years. It was through diving though that I was introduced to the world of circus.

In 2010 I became a flying trapeze artist, performing at our local rig for corporate events, and travelling to shows as a double static trapeze artist.

I took some time off to have 2 kids before I started silks and lyra up at Coolum for 2 years in 2015.

I have had an 11 year hiatus due to raising 4 kids. They are now in school so I’m getting my pink back. I started at Rise at the beginning of 2026 and am loving being back in this creative world.

I have already had the privilege of helping students in our acro classes and I can’t wait to see what skills we can achieve together!”
