What a fantastic weekend it was at Tallebudgera for our SEQ Development Camp!

It was jam-packed with activities and skills which built on key life skills such as communication, teamwork, decision-making, and leadership. Not only have these young officials come away as better referees, but they have also come away as even better individuals.

A massive thank you to Rochelle Tamarua from the QRL, and Paul Oliver from the NRL for your assistance over the weekend. We also extend our thank you to the senior coaches who assisted with skills/drills/activities across the weekend.

This weekend would not of been possible without the work behind the scenes from Izzy and Cameron, so thank you for your organisation and preparation leading into the camp!

Congratulations to the 22 newly accredited rugby league officials that will be hitting the paddock for the first time in 2026!

On any given week, more than 250 rugby league matches are played across the Coast — and Gold Coast Rugby League Referees officials are there for every one of them, supporting more than 5,000 players from juniors to seniors.

Through our three-year partnership, we’re proud to support referee development with funding for training programs, uniforms and on-field equipment — helping build the next generation of elite officials while strengthening grassroots league across the region.

Our first 6-12 age group referee course will be held at Nerang JRLFC on Saturday, the 21st of Feb, starting at 8:30am.
Whether you want to stay involved in the game, earn a bit of extra cash, or stay active with your mates on the weekend, this is a great opportunity to do so.
