Varsity Lakes Local Legends Darts League

Today we celebrated Danny. A friend, gentleman and legendary original darts player of the Varsity Lakes Local legends darts league.

We heard stories from his father, sister, daughter and mates. The day was heaving with a significant gallery of people close to him - who loved and cared for Danny - who showed up to pay their respects and share the shock of his loss.

Gone way too soon and should have been preventable - but I hope that if there is anything we can learn from his passing - it’s to talk, to share, to let friends and love ones in if you’re down, doing it tough or just need an ear to listen.

You may not always believe it - and I know it’s easier said that than done sometimes when the black dog hits - but just know you’re never alone - you’re not weak - you have mates and family who care - it just takes a call or conversation.

To any mate / to every legend - you have my number and I’ll always pick up - but if not me, then make it someone you love because we need you here.

RIP Danny - you’ll now live large in our thoughts.

RIP Danny mate: Simply devastated - An 'Original Legend' gone way way too soon.
This league literally exists because you pushed me to bring it all - and everyone together. You've been there right from the very start and now you're gone!
You were always a gentleman and friend to me, my friends, my staff and my family, and we're gonna miss you lad.

Just can't quite believe it's true :-(

Morning gents,
I am getting a literal flood of guys trying to pull out because their boyfriends can't play tonight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!NOT ON

I get it - some blokes have kids and are away because it is school holidays - but I am already trying to replace a number of players (teams) players who are genuinely either sick, overseas, or on holidays with the FAM - so please don't make it any harder.

It isn't fair!! It ruins everyone's night when players don't turn up - SO MAN UP and SHOW UP.Just because your partner ain't coming doesn't give you license to take the night off.

ALSO - Players NEEDED
If you have any mates who can play darts - I really need 2 more blokes to help fill a final TEAM gap tonight - so please let me know.

🎯 Dear Local Legends

Hope my email finds you all well.

First up I'd like to thank Paul and Mr Cliss for stepping in for me last month. Unexpected major eye surgery put me out for as few weeks, and whilst I am now on the mend (and will be present this week), I have been assured by my Surgeon that the surgery will in no way help improve my darts !!

Of course I appreciated the pics and emails of support too - I was brought to tears with such messages as " You Soft C**k" - "Arrrrrrrrrr I'm a Pirate" - "Best organised round Ever - Don't hurry back" - "Damn it was quiet" and "I miss the angry midget?"

In fact I understand the lads did so damn well at organising that you all ended up in bed by 8.30pm !!!!!!! WTF ?
Must I remind you all this is a men's social darts comp - not a f**ken Sherry Circle for 80 year olds - so that is simply not acceptable and will never happen again!!

Copied below is the current ladder (which certainly shows the good, the bad and the ugly !!!!) - and the roster for the next 3 rounds being played This Thursday.

There are some real Clash of the Titans games this week with top order match ups - which should prove once and for all 'Who's Dick is Bigger' !!

Special mentions last month go to 'Just the Tip' for scoring absolutely ZERO - To the as ever consistant 'Chuckers' with just one point - and they both receive the 'Supreme Mediocrity' award for still being on single digit tallys for an witnessed - well done indeed!!!

THURSDAY - Make sure your team is ready - or please ensure you have a replacement. We had quite a few missing last month and I knew of only 1 missing team prior to ther night - so remember you have committed so please TURN UP
