Bulb shaping is in its finals stages ready to meet the keel next week at

Quick progress update from us …lots of bling coming for WildOne !
Mast step arrived from and it looks and feels mint! Super professional job and fits well also.

Bow stem cut and ready for mock up and positioning before final welding and polishing
thanks to and Wicked Fabrications & Engineering

Bow stem reinforcement has been completed with new teak inserts and plate laminated in place ready to receive the bow stem assembly.

As promised , another update on our classic racer rebuild:

Rudder repairs completed and stainless sleeves installed thanks to Australian Marine Enterprises. She’s now ready to go on the boat as soon as we lift….and that’s coming soon ,bulb is being arduously shaped (💩 job) and soon will be ready to meet the new fin.

Super busy lately ,we’ve had no time for updates sorry …
Our classic racer rebuild is still going strong and steady following the initial concept of reusable components modified through skill and shipwright knowledge to fit this new design and layout .
Hopefully when finished it will inspire the new generation of marine apprentices and technicians to repair and innovate rather than replace .
Where are we now:
Chain plates in ,super strong fit thanks to Australian Marine Enterprises and Wicked Fabrications & Engineering
Our rudder bearing set up arrived from Jeffa in Holland , custome made for our rudder .Thanks Southern Seas Marine for facilitating this ,they are now installed after a few carbon repairs by AME.
The tedious work of shaping the bulb has started with almost 2 tonnes of lead to be stripped of this old bulb to get it to the designed shape .Thanks BlackPond Marine Consultants for templates and guidance and Wicked for the gantry crane that makes it all possible .

Lots happening with our gorgeous racer!

Harken coffee grinders have arrived and all parts are getting sorted and measured as we speak .We’ll refurbish the winches and that’s 4 mains for us . Michael refurbed the other two and are now coated and ready to go.

Sun is up and Australian Marine Enterprises started the install of hatches and side windows/portholes.

Final fin shape templates have been delivered by BlackPond Marine Consultants and all materials already picked up from MarineWare.

Lots of work behind the scenes for our beautiful racer rebirth!
A big batch of foam and resin got delivered from MarineWare to Australian Marine Enterprises .Kurt and the boys are ready to start shaping the fin keel.
Michael received the bearing repair kit and got stuck into rebuilding our winches.
We’ve received the final design and ok from Jeffa in Europe for our rudder bearing therefore Southern Seas Marine can order all parts .This took long and along with other hurdles made us rethink our participation at Rolex Sydney Hobart this year.We won’t be ready! Steaming on for next year anyhow,we’ve had a red hot go!
Jacko from Sails Inc. delivered our training sails,we have now a full wardrobe ready to go!

And she’s out !
A new chapter begins for our beautiful racer out for becoming again a complete boat !
Keel fin was blasted and coated by Vessel Protection and with all dry measuring done is off to Australian Marine Enterprises for fairing and glassing.
Thanks Polaris Marine Group for delivering such a quality piece !

Almost ready for haul out !!!
Our keel has been dye tested and NDT ed at Polaris Marine Group Harwood ready for GC next week .
All going well we should lift Wild One on Tuesday into the keel pit for dry fitting .

Happy Sunday everyone !
Work on our special boat continued the last two weeks behind the scenes . She’s ready to come out of the water soon for keel and rudder install.
Check this fin out!!!! Fresh out of the press,welded and ready for NDT next week !
Blast and paint after by Sweep Marine Services then glass and fair by Australian Marine Enterprises.
