You know that feeling of sitting in the car for ten minutes before you can walk inside?

I know I’m not the only one who’s felt completely overwhelmed when everyone needed something from me at once.

That feeling is real. Your body isn’t overreacting. It’s responding to a full plate.

You are not the only one. Most of the women I work with are carrying more than anyone can see.

It gets easier when you learn to notice overwhelm before it takes over. Start with one small step. A few slow breaths. A five minute break. Asking for help out loud.

If this has been you lately, my 1:1 counselling and movement sessions can support you.

I’ll also be launching my 12-month small group Circle soon. Send me a message to be the first to know. ❤️

A follow up to my last post 👇

I want to clear something up. I wasn’t trying to encourage sim-com - signing and speaking at the same time. I didn’t mean for it to come across that way, but I can see how it did.

Signing and speaking together often means neither language gets the space it needs. Auslan has its own grammar, its own rhythm. It deserves to be seen on its own terms, not squeezed into English’s shape.

I do apologise for that. It wasn’t my intention - it was to show that I’m a Coda, as I’ve had people ask if I’m Deaf or hearing, and I wanted to share that identity through the post.

In this space I work with both Deaf and hearing women, so there’s always a push and pull in how to provide content appropriately. I’m open to this conversation and to feedback, and even with the best intentions, I may still get it wrong sometimes. Just a human here trying to figure it out 😅

Thank you all for your kindness and collaboration. 🤍

For a long time I thought ‘kind’ and ‘people-pleaser’ were the same word. Turns out, they’re not.

Kindness comes from choice. People-pleasing comes from fear - of conflict, of disappointing someone, of not being liked.

They can look exactly the same from the outside. Same smile, same yes, same showing up. The difference is what’s happening underneath - whether I’m doing it because I want to, or because some part of me doesn’t feel safe doing anything else.

I’m not trying to become less kind. I’m learning to give myself the same kindness I give everyone else.

If this felt familiar, you’re not alone in it - save this post or send it to someone who needs the reminder too 💖
