Every ballet dancer knows this feeling 🩰

The bun. The shoes. The number pinned to the leotard.

There is something about exam day that stops you in your tracks — the quiet focus, the nervous energy, the moment everything you have worked for walks into that room with you.

Behind every student standing at that door is a teacher who has been there every step of the way.

Refining the details, building the confidence and genuinely caring about every dancer in their class.

That is what makes the difference. And that is what we pride ourselves on at Coastal Dance ✨

To every student sitting their ComDance Ballet Exams today — we are so proud of you 💜

We are so proud to share that Coastal Dance has been named a finalist in the Australasian Dance Education Awards 💜 Australasian Dance Educators Awards

We have been nominated across four categories:

✨ Excellence in Marketing & Brand
✨ Excellence in Child Safety
✨ Studio Teacher of the Year
✨ Studio Owner of the Year

To be recognised in this way means the world to us.

It is a reflection of the incredible community we have built together — our students, our families, our teachers and everyone who has been part of the Coastal Dance story.

When they can’t wait to get to class — that’s how you know 💜

At Coastal Dance, we notice the smiles before class just as much as the ones after. That tells us everything we need to know.

When a child walks through our doors happy and leaves even happier — that is what we are here for. It is what we have been here for since 1978.

If you are looking for a studio your child will genuinely love, we would love to meet them.

Ballet exams are about so much more than a result 🩰

Sitting a ballet exam through the Comdance - dance syllabi syllabus gives our dancers a meaningful milestone to work towards, and the process of preparing for that moment builds something lasting.

From personalised examiner feedback to the confidence that comes from stepping up and showing what you can do, exams shape dancers in ways that go far beyond the studio floor.

We are so proud of every Coastal Dance student preparing for Ballet Exams this term ✨

Over the weekend, some of our Coastal Dance students travelled to JAL DANCE to rehearse for a very special performance 💜

We are so excited to share that they have been selected to perform in the intermediate combined item at the Comdance - dance syllabi Convention — taking place on Sunday 1st November at Nissan Arena, Brisbane.

Performing a musical theatre piece choreographed by Euan Fistrovic Doidge, we also have two of our senior students performing in the senior piece on the day ✨

We are so proud to provide our students with opportunities like these — to grow, connect and share their love of dance with a wider audience 💜

Calling all past students & alumni…

Our End of Year Concert is coming up on Sunday 29th November and we would love to have some familiar faces back to help make it a performance to remember.

Whether you can spare a couple of hours or the full day, every bit of help counts.

It is a wonderful chance to reconnect with the Coastal Dance community, see how far our students have come and be part of the magic again.

This is a paid position — reach out today and we will be in touch with all the details 💜
