One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

Pain isn’t linear.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’ve been sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team throughout Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day — the things we wish more people understood sooner.

With endometriosis, it’s completely normal for pain to fluctuate. Some days feel better, others feel like a step backwards — and that doesn’t mean your condition is worsening or that you’re doing anything wrong.

Progress isn’t about having perfect days. It’s about learning how to listen to your body, make small adjustments, and zoom out to see the bigger picture over time.

✨ These are the conversations women’s health deserves.

If you’ve been following along this month, we hope this series has helped you better understand your body — and feel a little less alone in what you’re experiencing.

One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

Pelvic floor tightness doesn’t mean your pelvic floor is weak.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’re sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team for Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day — the things we wish more people understood sooner.

Endometriosis is often associated with increased tension through the pelvic floor, which can contribute to pain and dysfunction. But this doesn’t automatically mean the muscles are weak — and treating them like they are can sometimes make symptoms worse.

This becomes especially important during pregnancy. Assessing and managing pelvic floor tension can play a key role in preparing the body for birth, particularly if a vaginal delivery is planned.

One thing we wish more women knew about endometriosis?

It’s not just about period pain.

In our From the Clinic Room series, we’re sharing honest insights from our women’s health physio team for Endometriosis Awareness Month.

These are the conversations we have with women in clinic every day… The things we wish more people understood sooner.

Endometriosis can also affect bladder function, bowel symptoms and the pelvic floor. For many women, these symptoms can be just as disruptive as the pain itself.

Which is why management often needs to extend beyond medication or surgery alone. A whole-team approach — including pelvic health physiotherapy — can play an important role in supporting symptoms and improving quality of life.
