The Cobras played away this weekend going back up against the u6 Springfield Joeys. The boys played well making clean passes and maintaining their field position. All players had a lot of fun and it was nice to see how everyone had grown as players throughout their seasons. Well done Axell & Theo on joint players of the match

Metro Division 6 South Premiers 🏆

Built on the back of an outstanding 16‑match unbeaten run, our Metro Men Division 6 South team claimed the Premiership by 9 points. Their season included a commanding 10–1 win over Acacia Ridge and a memorable home and away double over local rivals Ipswich Knights, showcasing the quality, confidence and momentum that carried them through the campaign.

A tilt at the Premiership and Grand Final double ended with a narrow 1–0 semi-final loss to Souths United in front of a big home crowd, but the season remains a tremendous success. Congratulations to Joel and the entire squad for the football they produced and the goals they delivered, and it was fantastic to see so many long‑term Spirit players pulling on the shirt.

💙💛Under 11 Blaze Match Report💛💙

The team should be very proud of their performance this weekend. Without any subs and starting the game short a player, the girls held their shape and put up a strong team performance. Although they were tired, the players ran all game and worked hard. This weeks player of the match showed great determination and skill throughout the game, looking to break forward at any opportunity.

Senior Women Celebrate Stunning Division 2 Turnaround 💛💙

Spirit’s Senior Women’s Metro Division 2 team delivered a remarkable turnaround in 2026. After finishing at the bottom of the table in 2025, the squad went unbeaten until Round 14 and lost only two matches all season to finish runners‑up, built on a superb defensive record that saw them concede just 18 goals across the league campaign. Their unbeaten run also included a standout 3–0 away win over Division 1 Westside Grovely in the League Cup, a result that underlined just how far this group has come.

Despite a semi‑final loss to eventual Grand Final winners Annerley, the season has been a tremendous success for the club. Congratulations to Ian, Luke and the entire squad for their hard work, growth and commitment throughout the year. Roll on Division 1. 💪

Premiers! Under 16s take out Division 3 South 🏆

Western Spirit is celebrating another fantastic achievement with our Under 16s crowned Division 3 South Premiers for 2026. Winning 14 of their 20 matches and averaging over four goals per game, it’s been a standout season for the squad, built on effort, improvement and passion every week. Their focus now shifts to completing the premiership and Grand Final double, with the first step a home semi‑final against Bayside United next weekend.

Congratulations to coaches Anthony and Joel, team manager Cassie, all players and supporters on a brilliant 2026 season. 💛💙

🚑 Wingy update 🚑

As some of you know Wingy has been in hospital this week for an operation. He wanted to thank everyone for checking in and sending their best wishes.

Everything has gone well, he’s back home recovering, and can’t wait to get back to Kippen soon 💛💙

Western Spirit continues to strengthen its Senior Women’s program after finishing as Metro Division 2 runners‑up, with our sights now firmly set on competing in Division 1 for the 2027 season. To support this progression, we are seeking driven, determined and team‑focused players ready to contribute to a growing senior environment, and to come and join the fun at Spirit, Football Queensland’s Community Club of the Year.

We are also accepting Expressions of Interest for our Division 6 Metro Women and our newly formed Legends Women’s team, both offering a more social and enjoyable football experience while still valuing commitment and dedication.

Senior Women’s Trials will commence Wednesday 21 October at Kippen Park, Goodna, running every Wednesday for six weeks through to 25 November. All sessions begin at 6:45pm (arrive by 6:30pm to register)

Spirit Under 14 Boys head to finals 🏆

Congratulations to our Under 14 boys who finished third in Division 4 just 2 points behind runners-up Redland City, who they face next weekend in the semi-final. The team won 13 of their 18 league games, scoring 86 goals in the process including an impressive 11 against Springfield, and 10 at home to UQFC.

Well done to Kurt, Ian, all players and supporters on a great season, good luck in the finals💛💙

With only 2 more weeks of Miniroos football this weekend will be the last home game for a number of our teams as we host visitors from Brisbane Knights, Springfield, Mitchelton, Oxley United and Virginia United at Kippen Park.

Our Masters Over 45 (Div 3) need a win at Mt Gravatt on Friday night to keep their finals hopes alive, and our Under 18 Division 2 side travel to second placed Oxley United on Sunday knowing a win would see them earn a spot in the finals.
