Learn tatami etiquette and tournament procedures before having a go at Kata AND Kumite in a supportive round-robin format.

Current competitors and State Squad athletes are encouraged to register as officials and rotate through different roles, including coaching, refereeing and judging, table officiating, marshalling and athlete support.

You don’t need to be experienced in every role – this is your opportunity to learn! You’ll receive guidance and mentoring while gaining practical experience and helping our newest competitors take their first steps into tournament karate.

🥋 Karate 🥋

This term, our Year 3–6 students have enjoyed participating in karate lessons, with our K–2 students having their session this week.

Below is the details of the dojo that has been running the sessions, should anyone be interested in finding out more or pursuing karate outside of school.

We thank Kristina for providing our students with the opportunity to trial this sport.

💙 Happy Father’s Day! 💙

Today we celebrate all the amazing fathers and father figures who support, encourage and guide the next generation.

To the dads who are there with a helping hand, a listening ear, a few words of wisdom — and sometimes a terrible dad joke 😂 — thank you!

And to the grandfathers, uncles, big brothers, mentors, coaches and family friends who step up and make a difference in a child’s life, your impact is just as important.

Whether you’re cheering from the sidelines, helping with training, driving to competitions, lending a hand or simply being there when it matters most — thank you for everything you do. 🥋💙

🥋 Proud of Sensei Madi! 💪

Today Sensei Madi had the opportunity to attend the WKF Guardian Girls Self Defence instructor Seminar — a fantastic program focused on empowering women and girls with confidence, awareness and practical self-defence skills.

Guardian Girls Karate (GGK) is a global initiative developed through the World Karate Federation (WKF) in partnership with Guardian Girls International. The program uses karate-based self-defence to help women and girls build resilience, confidence and practical skills to better protect themselves and respond to situations involving violence.

The program has now been expanding across Australia, including Western Australia, with a focus on creating safer and more empowered communities.

It was great to see Sensei Madi continuing to develop her skills outside the dojo and gaining knowledge that she can bring back to our club and our members.

We’re very proud of her commitment to continuing to learn, grow and become an even better instructor. ❤️🥋

🥋 A New Chapter for Wheatbelt Wado Karate Club! 🎉

We’re very excited to announce that Wheatbelt Wado Karate Club is now officially incorporated!

For many years, our club has operated under the WA All Wado Karate Federation, and we’re very proud to have been part of that Wado community.

As our club has grown, we were advised by the Department Community, Industry, Tourism & Sport (CITS) that we needed to establish ourselves as an independent incorporated club. While this means a change in our formal structure, it also brings some exciting opportunities.

Being independently incorporated means we can now focus even more on developing Wheatbelt Wado Karate Club, growing our dojos, supporting our members and creating more opportunities for our juniors, competitors and families across the Wheatbelt.

Importantly, we remain part of the WA Wado community and look forward to continuing our strong relationships with our fellow Wado clubs, instructors and members.

This is an exciting step forward for our club and another milestone in what has been a fantastic journey so far.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Wheatbelt Wado along the way. We’re looking forward to building an even stronger future together! ❤️🥋

🥋 WELL DONE WHEATBELT WADO! 🥋

A huge congratulations to all of our Wheatbelt Wado members who competed at the Karate WA Stirling Karate - Japan Karate Association - SKC Shotokan Open Tournament over the weekend! 👏🥋

We’re incredibly proud of everyone who stepped onto the tatami and represented our club. Whether you came home with a medal, gained valuable experience, or simply had the courage to compete, you should all be proud of your efforts. 💪

A special thank you to Sensei Perrin, Lauren and Madi for supporting our competitors throughout the day, helping with coaching and making sure everyone was looked after. Your time and support are greatly appreciated. ❤️🥋

And of course, thank you to all the parents, families and supporters who travelled, encouraged and cheered everyone on.
