A Spirited Comeback! 🔥🤩

The CommBank 🇦🇺 put up another brave fight in Game 2 of their match-up against 🇰🇷 to secure a 2-2 draw.

Two goals down early in the first half, Di Pizio pulled one back right before the break to make it 1-2, before Akon hit the equaliser in the second half to complete the comeback! 💥

While the match was played behind closed doors, the young put on a determined performance from start to finish for the fans cheering from home and secured a result that showcased the fight, resilience and character of this young side. 💪

The CommBank put up a brave performance and fought until the very end, but ultimately fell 1-2 to 🇰🇷 at 🌴.

The young Olyroos came agonisingly close to equalising right at the death, with a dramatic freekick in injury time that rattled the woodwork and left the crowd holding their breath.🤯

We also had a very special guest in attendance with the CommBank Socceroos Head Coach Tony Popovic watching from the stands, along with many passionate supporters who turned up to cheer their teams this afternoon.🙌

The two teams meet again on Tuesday 6 October but this time the match will be played behind closed doors.

HUGE! History beckons as two of the world’s most explosive teams meet as international rugby returns to the Central Coast in September 2027💥

The Springboks and Flying Fijians will complete their preparations for the 2027 Rugby World Cup with a final Test Match at polytec Stadium on Saturday, 18 September 2027 – to be known as the ’Contest on the Coast.'

Supported by the Central Coast Council, the Test Match - which was launched exactly one year before kick-off - marks only the fourth time the two nations have met.
It will give fans the first opportunity to see the four-time and defending World Champion Springboks, and fan favourite Fijians, in Australia ahead of the 2027 tournament.🏉

The match will serve as a vital part of both teams’ preparation for the 2027 Rugby World Cup, with the Springboks aiming for a historic three-peat, while the Flying Fijians will look to build on their 2023 quarter final appearance as they carry the hopes of the Pacific into a home-region tournament.

As part of their commitment to the region, both teams will take up residence on the Central Coast, leading into and following the Test Match, with the establishment of high-performance training camps which will see them integrated with the local community and utilising its world-class facilities.

With a 6pm AEST kick-off confirmed, the Test Match will drive visitation of proud Springbok and Flying Fijian fans to the Central Coast to mix with locals for the match. With capacity at polytec Stadium capped at 20,000, tickets are expected to be in high demand for the fixture.

The Entrance Tigers JRLFC took the win in the final game of the day, defeating 20–14 in the U17FT competition🔥

A huge shoutout to the amazing Jayme Fressard, local Coastie and Sydney Roosters NRLW player, for gracing us with her presence and presenting medals to our young winners❤️

Let’s go Olyroos! Central Coast to host CommBank Olyroos against Korea Republic ahead of LA 2028 Olympics campaign ⚽😍

The CommBank Olyroos will begin their campaign towards qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games on home soil this October – with two international friendlies against Korea Republic Under-23s at picturesque polytec Stadium in Gosford. 🌴

The fixtures mark the first step on the road to LA28, with the CommBank Olyroos first aiming to qualify for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2028, with pre-qualification matches in June 2027, which will determine Asia’s representatives at the Olympic Games.

The first match will be played in front of fans at polytec Stadium on Saturday 3 October, with tickets going on sale today (Friday 11 September) from 10:30am.

The teams will meet again at 🌴on Tuesday 6 October in a match closed to the public.
