Goulburn Triathlon Club

Last Sunday, two of our members headed off to Canberra to take on the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team Canberra 100km — Isaac Hogan as part of a team of four with his mates, and Llew Davies tackling it solo. Crazy, right?!

With their incredible support crews in tow, they both absolutely smashed it.

Llew came through each aid station with a smile and a shuffle, and crossed the finish line with a massive grin after 14 hours and 57 minutes of running through the pitch-black night and freezing cold!

For the final 25km, Llew was navigating the Canberra trails in pitch-black darkness, climbing steep mountain trails and picking his way over uneven, unpredictable ground with nothing but his head torch lighting the few metres in front of him — relying on instinct, determination and whatever the trail revealed in the darkness.

As a requirement of the race, for those final 25km he also had his friend and fellow GTC member Tess Geaghan by his side — singing, motivating him and keeping him moving towards that finish line. What a queen!

With his fiancée, Isaac and his mum waiting and cheering him on, it was such a special moment to see him cross the finish line.

It was a great day for everyone and an incredible achievement all round!

A huge congratulations to two Goulburn Triathlon Club legends! 🌟

Last weekend, our Vice President Isaac Hogan (Isaac Hogan ) took on the incredibly tough 100km Guzzler Ultra through the rugged trails of Brisbane, showing outstanding determination, resilience and grit from start to finish. An amazing achievement that reflects the hard work and dedication he puts into his training.

We’d also like to celebrate Jo Lainson (Jo Anne ), a founding committee member of the renewed Goulburn Triathlon Club, who completed the 50km Guzzler Ultra. Although Jo has since moved away, she’ll always be part of the GTC family, and we’re thrilled to see her continuing to chase big goals and achieve incredible things.

It’s inspiring to see our current and past members taking on some of Australia’s toughest endurance events. Congratulations, Isaac and Jo—we’re incredibly proud of you both!

While the ocean had other plans and rough conditions saw the Port Stephens Triathlon converted to a duathlon, our GTC athletes rose to the challenge and delivered some fantastic performances!

🏃‍♂️ Martin Jewell competed in the Standard Distance event, crossing the line in 2:13:15. Martin finished an impressive 4th in the 35–39 age group and 46th overall from a strong field of 325 competitors.

🏃‍♀️ Tess Geaghan tackled the Sprint Distance event, finishing in 1:30:03 and securing 5th place in the Female 35–39 age group.

Huge congratulations to GTC’s Miki Rose on an incredible performance at the IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney on Sunday🔥👏

Miki raced her way to an outstanding 🥈 in her age group, putting together another strong race to finish on the podium for her 2nd 70.3 race in a row.
