Another cracking Twilight race night. All welcomed 6pm start for either a 5km or 8.3km every Wednesday night.

Congratulations to CSKC members, Rory Jarolimek and Michael McKeogh, who represented Australia in the 2026 ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championship La Vila Joiosa (Villajoyosa), Spain last weekend.

In a world class field, Rory finished 33rd in the Under 23’s and Michael finished 10th in the 60-64 age group.

Sensational conditions for Twilight racing tonight for either a 5km or 8.3km paddle. Groups setting off at scratch, 3 minutes or 6 minutes.

Spring/Summer workouts commence this Saturday 3 October 2026.

Saturday mornings 7am start at Swallow Rock Reserve - This is a 15km ski session from Swallow Rock Reserve to Maianbar sandbank and back. This is a testing session with several interval efforts. (Note some paddlers place less emphasis on testing themselves).

Wednesday evenings 6pm start at Swallow Rock Reserve - This is a 5km racing session for all craft, generally from Swallow Rock Reserve to Audley and back.

All paddlers are welcome.

Good luck to CSKC members, Rory Jarolimek, Michael McKeogh, John Lee, Daren Lee and Vukasin Vujanic who will be representing Australia in both the 2026 ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championship La Vila Joiosa (Villajoyosa), Spain, from October 9 to 11, 2026 and the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships held in Argentina (Gualeguaychú) from October 22 to 25, 2026.

Rory and Michael both had remarkable races earlier this year at Paddle Australia 2026 Australian Ocean Racing Championships in Tasmania to qualify for ICF Canoe Ocean Racing World Championships, and Vukasin Vujanic, John Lee and Darren Lee also excelled at Paddle Australia 2026 Canoe Marathon Championships in Canberra to qualify for the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships.

Cronulla Sutherland Kayak Club was blessed with amazing conditions today for The Hacking Classic, which has been running for 56 years. Shout out to Paddle NSW and our committee and club members for everything that drives a successful event.
