Outstanding Service Award – Juan Sabag

It is with great appreciation and pride that we nominated Juan Sabag for the SDSFA Outstanding Service Award, in recognition of his exceptional contribution, commitment and dedication to our football club over the past 11 seasons.

Juan’s contribution to Sporting Rovers extends far beyond any single role. Throughout his time at the club, he has been a player, coach, committee member and Football President, giving his time and energy wherever it was needed. He has been instrumental in helping build Sporting Rovers from its foundations into the thriving club it is today.

Juan’s journey with Sporting Rovers began as a player, where he proudly represented the club and was part of a premiership-winning team. His commitment to the club continued long after his playing days, transitioning into coaching, administration and leadership. He has coached junior teams, mentored players and fellow coaches, and continually shared his knowledge and experience to help others develop.

Much of Juan’s contribution has also occurred behind the scenes. He has taken responsibility for organising clothing and equipment, managing canteen duties, coordinating field allocations, assisting with ground and clubhouse set-up, and undertaking countless other tasks that are essential to the successful operation of a community football club. These are often the jobs that go unnoticed, but they are fundamental to creating a club where players, families and volunteers can come together and enjoy the game.

After more than a decade of dedicated service, Juan has now decided that his time with the club is coming to an end. It is therefore particularly fitting that we take this opportunity to formally recognise what he has given to Sporting Rovers and the lasting impact he has had.

GRSL Round 7 Stalemate results all round for our 3 sides.

The U13 and U14 teams remain undefeated in their respective competitions.

The U15s unlucky not to pick up the 3 points on Friday evening in Greenacre.

The boys head back to training on Monday and focus on their round 8 fixtures.
