Some people are simply part of a club, and others are the reason a club feels like family. ❤️⚾

On Friday night at our Senior Presentation Night, we were proud to congratulate Simon Fitzmaurice, our 2026 Graeme Kent Award recipient!

Whether it’s T-Ball presentation day, a working bee, junior training or game day, Simon is always there, ready to lend a hand, support our players and do whatever is needed to help the club. He gives his time generously, shows up when it matters and embodies the very best of what it means to be part of the Monty family.

The Best Clubperson Award, is one of the club’s most prestigious honours. It recognises an individual whose dedication, sportsmanship and selfless contribution reflect the spirit and values of Greenhills Montmorency Baseball Club.

Simon is a wonderful example of exactly what this award represents. It’s not always about the big moments or being in the spotlight; it’s about the countless little things, the helping hands, the time given and the genuine care shown for the people around you. These are the things that make our club what it is. 🖤🤍

Clubs like ours thrive because of people who give so much of themselves, often without ever expecting recognition. Simon’s willingness to step up, support our juniors and be there for our club does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he contributes.

Congratulations, Simon, on being named our 2026 Best Clubperson!

Thank you for your time, your generosity and your unwavering support of Monty. We’re lucky to have you as part of our club family, and this recognition is so very well deserved!

🖤🤍 That’s the Monty spirit! ⚾

Some people leave a lasting mark on a club, not just through what they achieve on the field, but through the people they inspire, the friendships they build and the time, passion and heart they give back. ❤️⚾

On Friday night at our Senior Presentation Night, we were incredibly proud and honoured to welcome Dale “Gibbo” Gibson as the 27th Life Member of Greenhills Montmorency Baseball Club! 🏆

This is a truly special and well-deserved recognition of someone who has given so much to Monty over many years. Having grown up playing at our club, Gibbo knows firsthand what makes this place so special — the friendships, the memories, the people who become family and the generations who continue to carry the Monty spirit forward.

With 400+ games, 7 Senior Premierships and 4 Senior MVP awards, Gibbo has achieved plenty on the diamond. But his contribution goes far beyond the numbers. His commitment to coaching, mentoring young players and helping them develop not only as baseballers but as people is a legacy that will continue long into the future.

Some of Gibbo’s fondest memories come from his junior days at Monty — learning from great coaches and playing alongside mates who became lifelong friends. Today, he is helping create those same memories and opportunities for the next generation of young players, passing on the knowledge, passion and love for the game that were once shared with him.

Life Membership is one of the highest honours our club can bestow, recognising those whose contribution, dedication and commitment have helped shape the club we are today. To welcome Gibbo as our 27th Life Member is something we can all be incredibly proud of.

Congratulations, Gibbo. Thank you for everything you have given to Monty — for the years of service, the countless hours, the passion you bring and the impact you continue to have on our players and our club. We hope you feel just how much you are valued and appreciated by the Monty family.

Congratulations on becoming our 27th Life Member. So very well deserved! 👏⚾
