I have planned and dreamed of making SHFT for over 10 years. I have trained in many gyms over the years and have seen the good and the bad. This has allowed me to pick out the best parts and ensure that the worst are not included. SHFT is not filled with machines, its is full of plenty of equipment to make you a machine. ANZAC DAY.

Thank you to all that have served or are currently serving.

Unfortunately there have been some recent events that has attempted to dim the lights of the brave few that have protected our country and done what our governments have told them.

Before you judge, think when was I asked to kill another person, when did I have some one try to kill me, when was I sent away to a different country where most locals don’t want you there, and where the bad guys hide amongst the innocent.

I am and always will be proud of those who served.

Today’s workout had nothing to do with anything but being mentally better.

Today i lost my composure.

Today’s school preparation was a struggle from forgotten school shirts x2, lost pencil cases, poor time management etc.

In the scheme of things this is small but when other things are filling the stress bucket, sometimes it overflows.

After school drop off, and ensuring the kids that I loved them, it was time to get in and get the training in, so my clients had the best version of myself.

Training will humble you, break you, heal you and pretty much make you a better human.

Get in and get the work done.

As we age we lose power faster than we lose strength and fitness.
As an old man it’s important I try to hang onto what I have.
Try to incorporate some power into your training as often as you can.

Think you don’t have enough time to do a workout?
Try this burner
Tabata Assault bike: 8x 20 sec on 10 sec off.
Rest 2-3
Kettlebell Swings 30 sec on 30 sec rest x 5 rounds (aim for 20 swings)
All done under 15 minutes.

Adversity will find you.
Will you be ready or will it beat you?
This week I found a c***k in my armour.
I found that my breathing when I’m red lining it is ineffective.
I could find all the excuses, I’m 54 years old, I haven’t really grappled for years, I was up against a very good black belt.
What I prefer to do is understand I have an area of weakness which needs to be addressed. Then meet it head on.
What is your weakness? Will you find an excuse or will you find a solution to fix the problem?
