No matter what the scoreboard says, the club is incredibly proud of every player, coach, manager, volunteer and family involved with this group and the amazing season they have had.

They’ve worked hard, stuck together and given us plenty to cheer about — and now there’s ONE MORE TO GO!

What an incredible achievement and such a well-deserved recognition of an outstanding season. Your hard work, commitment and effort throughout the year have certainly paid off!

As we head into the home stretch of the season, we want to take a moment to recognise the incredible people behind the scenes who help make the Greystanes Goannas the club it is.

Running a junior football club is no small job — and while we might talk about an “off season”, we all know there is really no such thing!

Our committee members generously give their time, energy and expertise, often juggling club responsibilities alongside work, family and their own busy lives. Much of what they do happens quietly and behind the scenes, but it makes a huge difference to our players, families and our wider club community.

The Greystanes Goannas truly is a club built by its community, and we are incredibly grateful for the people who continue to put their hands up and make it happen.

Mighty Goannas Under 9s Finish the Season in Style. Today, our Mighty Goannas Under 9s wrapped up their season at Gala Day on Bensons Lane.
Despite a number of players being unavailable due to illness, the team rose to the challenge with the help of a few ring-ins from other teams. Their contribution ensured every match remained competitive, while our Goannas’ strong defence made life difficult for their opponents throughout the day.
Baulkham Hills, Kellyville and the Penrith Giants will certainly remember the Goannas Under 9s, who finished the season full of confidence, determination and teamwork. After an off-season of training and development, this group will return with even more skills and experience to build on an outstanding year.
The season concluded with plenty of momentum and, most importantly, smiles on every player’s face, despite the tired legs that came from playing three hard-fought games.
A huge thank you to all the parents, players and volunteers who helped ensure our kids were able to take the field each and every week throughout the season. Your commitment and support make all the difference.

Our Qualifying Final sees us playing at beautiful Kelso Park North against Camden Skilton.
After suffering our first loss of the season against this team a few weeks ago, our little legends came prepared.
From the opening bounce, our boys applied pressure and took a handy lead in the 1st.
As the game progressed, Skilton threw everything at us but our Goeys held their nerve to come away with an 11 point victory and book a spot in the grand final!

Skilton 4.3.27

Our U12s have finished the regular season as Minor Premiers, securing their spot in a Qualifying Final this Sunday!

There’s still a mountain to climb and a job to be done, but this group is ready for the challenge. Guided by their coach Leigh and Manager Kate, the team are staying focused, training hard and continuing to work together as a team.

They’re looking forward to what we expect to be an excellent game of footy against Camden Skilton this weekend! 💪🏉

We’re calling on our entire Goeys community to get behind them and wish them the very best of luck!

Wow, we’ve made it to the end of the season, and what a season it has been! This week, the team headed west up the mountains to Faulconbridge to take on the Blue Mountains Kangaroos. The rain accompanied us for most of the journey, but as we arrived, the clouds began to clear and the sun even managed to peek through. Our Under 9 Goannas faced a tough challenge in the first two quarters, but they showed incredible determination and resilience. In the second half, they matched the Kangaroos’ intensity and effort, with a few goals to reward the teamwork across the park. This week, every player demonstrated outstanding defence, attack, teamwork, patience and persistence. The way the Goannas played today is something they should all be incredibly proud of. Ally left the ground with a huge smile from ear to ear, reflecting on just how much every player has grown throughout the season under her leadership. The improvement, confidence and team spirit shown by this group have been fantastic to watch. It’s been a huge first season for the entire team, and with one more challenge ahead at our first Gala Day next week, we can’t wait to see what they can achieve. Bring it on, Goannas! 💙💛🦎

Round 15 and the last game of regular season sees our Little Legends have a sleep in as our opponents, unfortunately unable to field a team, forfeited against us. But by true Goey fashion, our team held a team bonding training session followed by “good luck” sausages in preparation for our Qualifying Final next weekend.

🦎U13s
What a way to finish our season. We jumped out of the blocks hard and fast and ambushed the bloodhounds to take a 19 point lead at quarter time. The 2nd quarter was much of the same but the Bloodhounds fought back with the scores 37-20 at the half. The 3rd saw the Goannas put the screws into the bloodhounds going into the final change 64-26 up.The last quarter was a back and forth affair with the Goannas running out winners 73-40. A great way to finish the season in style

Today, Harry from the U12’s had the fantastic opportunity to umpire 6 games at the AFL NSW/ACT Disability Inclusion State Championships at the Wheelchair Football competition! 🙌

What an incredible experience — learning new skills, gaining valuable experience and being surrounded by and inspired by some truly incredible athletes and people.

The last round of the regular season is upon us & we can’t believe we are here already!

Our U12 have no game this weekend due to an opposition forfeit but they will take the week to train, remain focused & look ahead to finals footy next weekend!

This week, our mighty team was back at home against the Hawkesbury Saints in what was the most evenly matched contest we have seen all year.
Right from the opening bounce, the Goannas were ready to play. Their fierce defence was on display from the outset, while growing confidence across the team was evident as handballs and kicks consistently found their targets.
The smiles on the players’ faces when goals were kicked made all the tough games and training sessions worthwhile. Seeing high fives shared right across the playing group was a fantastic reflection of the team’s spirit and support for one another.
The team has now developed into a wonderful group both on and off the field, and all parents should be incredibly proud of how far the players have come since Round 1.
With one round remaining in the regular season, we head up to the mountains next week looking to finish strongly.
