TIRAMISU TRIUMPHS AS STRINGS ATTACHED SUFFER SHOCK LOSS

Congratulations to Janelle Toole who took out the prestigious ‘dessert of the year so far’ award for a delicious Tiramisu on Wednesday night. It was made by her housemate Valentina sans alcohol, which is a just as well, as one club member (who asked not to be named) had so many slices, he would’ve been done for DUI.

“Yeah, the Tiramisu wasn’t bad,” defending dessert premier Robyn Meehan said.

“But it’s early days, my caramel slice hasn’t seen the light of day yet, so we’ll see who’s winning the dessert prizes come finals time.”

On the court, the president received a last-minute call-up and overcame chronic shoulder pain to lead his team Shud to a stunning upset victory over six-time defending champions Strings Attached.

“We strutted on the court expecting an easy win as usual,” Strings Attached Jamie Mitton said.

“But when we saw the president on court we froze. Connor, Roseanne and Lyn all seemed to grow a leg in his presence.”

The Young Guns made the mistake of seeing the tiramisu before they took the court, so weren’t focused at all. They meekly threw their matches to Bits & Pieces as quickly as possible so they could tuck into the sweets.

Canteen superstar Jess made her return to the courts and led her team Whatever to an impressive win, with Megan thanked for filling in for her opponents.
