The Old Guildfordians Association The Old Guildfordians Association represents the former students of Guildford Grammar School, Perth, Western Australia.

The Old Guildfordians Association Incorporated is the alumni body of Guildford Grammar School, Perth, Western Australia. The Association was founded in 1905, nine years after the School was founded. The Association now has a membership of over 4000, living all around the world. The primary aim of the Old Guildfordians is to offer ex-students a means of maintaining a link with the School community and to keep in contact with one another. The Association also works towards providing opportunities for members to enhance their careers by way of contact with other members in their industry or profession. Numerous functions, both social and sporting are scheduled in the Association’s annual calendar and these provide an ideal way of keeping in touch with friends at School. Regional dinners, the annual dinner and reunions are regular events, held throughout the State and sometimes overseas. The Old Guildfordians takes an active interest in the welfare of the School. It has two seats on the School Council and offers assistance to the School through a variety of means. The Association also offers two scholarships and student travel bursaries to assist students. A committee of management is elected annually at the AGM under an incorporated constitution, and they govern all the activities of the Association.

Welcome to the Old Guildfordians community, Class of 2026!

Valedictory Day marked an emotional farewell for our Year 12 students as they walked through the Year 11 Honour Guard, shared hugs and thanks with one another, and gathered for a beautiful parting Chapel service before exiting the Chapel for the final time.

As they leave Guildford Grammar School, they take with them years of friendships, shared experiences and memories that will always connect them to the School.

The Class of 2026 now joins a worldwide community of Old Guildfordians. We warmly welcome them and look forward to following their journeys, celebrating their achievements and seeing those connections continue in the years ahead.

Old Guildfordian Melissa Clements has returned to Guildford Grammar in a very special way, creating the official portrait of Principal Peter Allen.

More than 15 years ago, Melissa attended our Preparatory School, where the beautiful grounds and opportunities to explore nature helped nurture her love of art. She particularly remembers sitting in the Dining Hall at her Year 6 graduation, looking up at the portraits of former Principals and imagining that one day, she might have a painting of her own hanging on those walls.

Melissa is an accomplished portrait artist specialising in classical realism, with her work recognised in major Australian portrait prizes and held in collections across the country.

Her portrait of Mr Allen now hangs alongside those that inspired her as a young student, representing a remarkable full-circle moment in her artistic career and a wonderful connection to her years at Guildford Grammar.

A huge congratulations to Sofia Borg (Stirling), who has signed her first professional football contract with Newcastle United Women in England!

The 18-year-old goalkeeper has made an incredible mark since making the move to England, training regularly in the first-team environment and being part of matchday squads.

What an outstanding achievement — and one that reflects Sofia’s talent, determination and hard work both on and off the field.

Sofia has her sights firmly set on continuing to develop, playing as much football as possible and becoming the best goalkeeper she can be.

The GGS community is incredibly proud to celebrate this exciting milestone with Sofia and wish her every success for this next chapter of her football journey.

Some wedding-day memories stay remarkably clear, no matter how many years have passed.

Ian and Wendy Claxon remember their wedding on 18 January 1986:

“We had a lovely wedding ceremony in the chapel, photos down by the river and then celebrated at the Rose and Crown in Guildford.”

For Shane Scudder, the memory of seeing his wife Dorothy enter the Chapel is just as vivid:

“Time stood still, and my heart was full.”

So many marriages, memories and stories are connected to the Chapel of St Mary and St George.

From This Day Forward will welcome couples back to the Chapel on Saturday 10 October to remember their wedding day and celebrate the years that followed.

There are some moments you never forget.

Louise Snooke remembers the walk down the aisle in the Chapel of St Mary and St George:

“Walking down that long aisle with every set of eyes on you is slightly terrifying, but sharing such a special moment in a beautiful setting makes it entirely unforgettable.”

For generations of couples, the Chapel has been the setting for one of life’s biggest moments.

Belonging. Community. Learning. Legacy.

That is what Together Again is all about.

Our recent Oliverson Society gathering brought members of the Guildford Grammar School community together from near and far for an afternoon of connection, conversation and shared learning.

Guests heard from Guildford Grammar parent Mike Bennett on family, values and preparing for the future, Principal Peter Allen on the School’s vision, and, most powerfully, from one of our students, who shared the difference a scholarship has made in her life.

We also had the privilege of recognising our Oliverson Society Custodians, who have chosen to remember Guildford Grammar through a gift in their Will, creating opportunities for generations to come.

A beautiful reminder that belonging to this community can last a lifetime, and our impact can last even longer.

From Guildford Grammar to the AFL Grand Final! 💜🏉

The entire Guildford Grammar community would like to wish Old Guildfordian Jordan Clark (Harper 2017-2018) and the Fremantle Dockers the very best of luck in this weekend’s AFL Grand Final!

We were fortunate to welcome Jordan back to the School recently for our Senior Football Awards Night, where he generously gave up his time to connect with our current students and take part in our awards presentations.

We are incredibly grateful for Jordan’s continued connection to Guildford Grammar and his willingness to give back to the football program where his journey began.

From Guildford Grammar to the biggest stage in Australian football, we couldn’t be prouder!
