🏋️♀️💪 Technique Tuesday 💪🏋️♀️
Welcome to Technique Tuesday!
Today we're looking at the military press, an excellent exercise for building shoulder strength, upper body stability, and pressing power.
Let's break down three key technique cues to help you get the most out of this exercise.
First, start with the weight at shoulder height and your feet about hip-width apart. Brace your core, squeeze your glutes, and keep your chest tall. A strong setup creates a strong press.
Second, press the weight straight overhead while keeping it close to your body. As the weight passes your forehead, gently move your head through so it finishes stacked over your shoulders.
Thirdly, one of the most common mistakes is arching through the lower back to get the weight overhead. Keep your ribs down and core engaged throughout the movement to protect your spine.
Remember: strong setup, press straight overhead, and keep your core engaged.
Using these tips, give the military press a try during your next upper body workout.
