KARATE AGAINST BULLYING — BULLYING NO WAY.
IKD Australia is proud to support Karate Australia's Karate Against Bullying initiative during Bullying No Way Week, 17–21 August 2026.
Traditional karate is about much more than physical training. It helps children and young people develop:
- Respect
- Confidence
- Courage
- Inclusion
- Self-control
At IKD Australia, we believe that true strength means having the confidence to stand up for yourself and others — while having the discipline to treat people with respect.
Through traditional Shotokan Karate, we encourage our students to believe in themselves, develop resilience, overcome shyness and fear of being judged, and make positive choices.
IKD Australia stands together against bullying.
BULLYING. NO WAY.

A Milestone Celebration: 9 Years of IKD Karate Australia
Today, our dojo was filled with a profound sense of pride as we celebrated two major milestones in the history of IKD Karate Australia. We were deeply honored to be joined by the newly appointed Gympie Deputy Mayor, Cr Warren McEwan, who helped us mark this special occasion.
Nine Years of Dedication
It is a momentous day for our IKD family as we celebrate our 9th Anniversary. This journey has been defined by more than just martial arts; it has been nine years of persistent growth, rigorous training, and a whole lot of fun. We are incredibly grateful for the vibrant community we’ve built together and the positive impact our students continue to make both inside and outside the dojo.
The Path to Black Belt Excellence
The highlight of our celebration was the official certificate presentation for our dedicated students who successfully challenged their Black Belt grading last November. Reaching these ranks requires years of discipline and an unwavering "Karate-ka" spirit.
We are thrilled to officially congratulate our newest rank achievers:
Racheal – Shodan (1st Degree)
Zach & Dana – Nidan (2nd Degree)
Terry – Sandan (3rd Degree)
Your commitment to the art of Karate is an inspiration to every student at our dojo. Well done on this prestigious achievement!
A Community Thank You
A sincere thank you to Cr Warren McEwan for visiting our dojo, supporting local martial arts, and taking the time to recognize the hard work of our students.
Here is to many more years of excellence, discipline, and community. Ous!

Today we held our Working Bee. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to help out. Your time, effort, and positive spirit made such a big difference.
There was a lot to get through such as moving equipment, hedge trimming, pressure washing, vacuuming, mopping, and giving the bathrooms a clean. It was no small job, but together we got it done, and the dojo is looking fantastic because of all of you.
It’s moments like this that really show the strength of our community. We’re incredibly grateful for everyone who lent a hand and contributed to making our space cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for all.
Thank you again for your hard work and support!!
