Congratulations to our Gympie U16 Boys team, who will travel to Townsville these school holidays to represent our association at the Queensland State Championships!

MARCH PAST 2026 — WHAT A SHOW!
Well… you certainly understood the assignment this year!

The colours, the cheering, the team spirit and those ACCESSORIES - absolutely next level! Tutus, wigs, signs, balloons, this year’s March Past such a fantastic celebration of our hockey community.

A huge congratulations to our 2026 March Past winners… PANTHERS! 🐾🏆💙

The Panthers brought the energy and took out this year’s trophy - congratulations team!

But we have to say, every single team was amazing. The cheering was LOUD, the smiles were huge, and we loved seeing some of our U15 and Youth players jump in and join the fun too. That’s what club spirit is all about.

Thank you to all our players, coaches, families and supporters who got involved and made it such a great moment.

And what a weekend of finals hockey it was!
We now have teams who have officially booked their place in the GRAND FINAL, while others will battle it out again next week for their chance to join them.

A LITTLE UNIFORM REMINDER AS WE HEAD INTO FINALS

Did you know that the playing shirts handed out at the beginning of the season are owned by Gympie Hockey Club?

Having club-owned uniforms that can be used season after season is one of the ways we’re able to help keep playing costs down for our members, so it’s really important that we get them all back at the end of each season.

🏑 PLAYING A KNOCKOUT SEMI THIS WEEKEND?

If your team is playing a game where your season may finish this weekend, please bring a spare shirt to change into after your game.

If it is your final game, please hand your playing shirt directly to your coach or manager before you leave.

While we absolutely want to see EVERYONE back at Grand Final Day to cheer on their friends and attend presentations, we know how busy and exciting that day can be and uniforms are very easily forgotten! So if your playing season finishes earlier, we'd love to collect your shirt straight away.

💙 MEN’S & WOMEN’S PLAYERS - WE ESPECIALLY NEED YOUR HELP

Unfortunately, this return process hasn't been followed as consistently within our senior competition over the past few years, and we are now getting very low on senior playing shirts.

These shirts are provided with the support of our wonderful club sponsors, and they're not something we can easily or cheaply replace each season.

So please, if you have a Gympie Hockey playing shirt at home from this season or a previous season, we would LOVE to have it returned!

Please return it to your coach (juniors) - Seniors you can return to the wash me basket at the control room.

Thank you for helping us look after our club gear so we can continue providing uniforms for our players year after year.

Who’s playing Summer 6s?!

Last year our very own Nick Franklin won Sports Dad of the year, thanks to our amazing community for voting for him. It's on again of you would like to nominate an awesome Dad!

🏆 Community Sports Dad of the Year nominations are closing soon!

Do you know a dad who goes above and beyond for community sport?

Whether he's coaching, managing teams, marking fields, fundraising, driving kids to games or taking care of all the behind-the-scenes jobs that keep a club running, now is the time to recognise his efforts.

The winning sporting club will receive a $5,000 Rebel Sport voucher to purchase new equipment or apparel. The winning dad will take home a Philips Reverse Osmosis Water Station, and the person who submits the winning nomination will receive a Philips Multigroom 7000 grooming kit.

🏑 In 2025, Nick Franklin from Gympie Hockey Club was named Community Sports Dad of the Year.

HERE WE GO… IT’S FINALS TIME!

The regular season is done and this weekend we officially head into our SEMI FINALS! 🔥

Please check out this week’s Semi Final Draw, along with our Finals Rules so everyone knows exactly how the next few weeks will work.

A quick note for our Youth and Women’s divisions - these divisions have a slightly different finals format and will play one full game this week and one full game next week. Please check the Finals Rules graphic for the details.

For some teams, this weekend will mean progressing one step closer to the Grand Final. For others, it will sadly bring their playing season to an end.

Whatever happens, we are incredibly proud of the season you’ve all had. And remember, your season finishing does NOT mean your hockey year is over!

🏆 GRAND FINAL DAY is for our whole Gympie Hockey community. Every junior player will receive something at their division presentation on Grand Final Day, so please make sure you’re there to celebrate the season together!

📅 Grand Final game times and division presentation times will be released later this week, so keep an eye on our page and team chats so you can plan your day.

GRAND FINAL DAY – WE NEED OUR HOCKEY VILLAGE!

Our Grand Final Day Canteen Roster is going up at the canteen, and we would absolutely love your help.

Grand Final Day is a huge 12-hour day for our club and committee. Many of our committee members will also be umpiring, coaching, MC’ing, playing, helping with presentations and, of course, trying to find time to watch their own kids and loved ones play.

So this is one of those days where many hands really do make light work.

If you can spare just ONE HOUR to help in the canteen, it would make such a difference and help ensure everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy some of this very special day.

The roster will be on a clipboard in the canteen from now until Grand Final Day, so please pop your name into a time slot that works for you.

We completely understand that some families will need to wait until the finals draw is confirmed so you know when your children are playing and when their presentations will be, that’s absolutely fine! Just keep the roster in mind once you know your schedule.

And finally, a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has already given their time in the canteen and helped our club throughout the year. Whether it’s been one hour or many, we truly appreciate every person who has pitched in. 💙💛

Players, families, supporters, coaches, managers, volunteers and our Heat teams - this night is for all of you.

We want to celebrate another incredible season together, but most importantly, take the time to recognise and spoil the amazing people behind the scenes who give so much to our club.
