A lot of hard work and dedication to get there. Well done.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Last day of the Taranaki Anzac Invitational.
Masters team, another hard game against Wanganui and unfortunately we went down 8 to 4 and finished 4th.
Senior men's against Papatoetoe was 2 all until the last 3 minutes with a goal to Papatoetoe then we pushed hard with full press man on man and Papatoetoe scored again to make it 4 to 2. Very close and great effort from Gympie Thunder to come away with second place out of 8 teams. A great Moral boost to finish high in the rankings.
Congratulations to everyone on the team. I'm proud to be president and part of The Thunder.
In the coming weeks I will be delivering some fantastic news for the future of or club. Stay tuned.🙂

Senior men's division 2, (8 teams 2 pools) went down to Papatoetoe 5 to 3. Close game. Put us in second place in pool A.
Then played our first semi final against Wanganui (winners of pool B) with a win 9 to 7. Tomorrow we are playing Papatoetoe again in the division 2 final for 1st and 2nd.

Our Teams
Plus Hughgo from France in the senior team.
Today's results.
Masters lost to Taranaki 3-7
Seniors division 2 win against Mordialloc Black 5-2.
Hard going for our Masters/mostly Veterans playing against teams with a lot of younger players who also play in the Premier league. As coach I'm proud of the effort our players are putting in.
Go Thunder.
Gympie Masters and Gympie seniors have ventured to New Zealand to play in the Taranaki Anzac Invitational Rink Hockey Tournament.
Our Masters team played Papatoetoe, good effort but went down 9 -1.
Senior team playing division 2
had a good win against Hastings, 10 - 2.
The floor we are playing on is massive. 60m x 30m, Gympie rink was 32m x 18m.
Hard work to skate on the plastic tiles let alone the massive size.
Looking for an old caravan for Gympie Roller Sports Club to gut and use for equipment storage. It needs to be towable but can tilt tray to site.
Very low budget.
