5am exercise suit you?

A client of mine is looking to find a training partner or two to share costs with.

We are looking for any ladies who would like to do early morning strength training. 5am to 6am.
No experience needed, no expectations to keep up with others.

We have a quiet private studio in Tamaree so if you wanted to get moving, get taught how to lift weights and hit the new years goals then please send us a private message and we can start whenever you are ready.

I enjoy training and am grateful to get the opportunity to exercise most days and have since my teens. One exercise goal shifted in my 40s, and it was to continue to feel healthy and move with ease. Why? To keep the old man out.

With a higher volume with less emphasis on heavy weights and more on quality reps, I can train more often. I have more muscle and no aches and pains.
Having employed my techniques on clients of all ages, everyone trains better, more consistently, and with better results.

Need some help?
I have a private setting so you can gain the confidence and skills to move without pain and get you feeling younger.

No age is too old to start. I have people in their 70s and 80s with their first time in a gym. Movement has no limits and there is no better time to start.

These are private sessions, bring a friend for no extra cost or if you have a group that wants to train together, I offer small group training.

A training session should be a happy space.

There's always the main reason for showing up, i.e. health and fitness related goals, but the other aspect is social.

As a trainer, I get to hear everyone's good and bad parts of their day. I get to know the real you and we become friends, it's my favourite part of the job. When you leave the studio, you've worked hard but also unloaded and had a good chat for an hour.

I have been able to do this for 20-plus years as my work doesn't actually feel like work, I have mates that pop in for some squats and bench press and a hang out.

I dont like talking about myself, but I just wanted to say;

I am proud of myself.

I am proud of how far I've come, I've been doing this for 20 odd years and still going strong. I've worked with thousands of people off all walks of life. I've taught everything from a clean and jerk to a grapevine to how to get up off the ground.

I am proud that I've worked all aspects from a senior's aqua aerobics class to running boot camps to coaching athletes at the national weightlifting level.

I am proud that I love working with all age groups and abilities, and most importantly, I am proud of the services I bring to my clients.

My books are always open for new clients and returning clients. Message me for a chat, and let's book in a casual session.

As a coach who specialises in back pain, and lives with it myself, I’ve got a few go-to pieces of equipment that I trust to keep training effective and safe 👇

1️⃣ Back Extension Machine — Perfect for building your hinge pattern (like a deadlift or good morning) with less fatigue and lower injury risk.

2️⃣ Belt Squat — A new addition to the gym! It lets you train your squat without loading up the spine.

3️⃣ 45° Roman Chair — Great for loading the posterior chain — glutes, hamstrings, and spinal erectors — without spinal compression. I especially love using it for back curls to target the erectors more directly.

I hung some memories in the studio today. Which era did you train with us? Bonus points if you've got / still wear one of our shirts.

- Straight edge personal training was short lived in Rockhampton in 2008.
- Stay True Health and fitness started in 2010 in Gladstone as outdoor training. It went away but came back later after we stopped being affiliated with crossfit.
- Crossfit 4680 was the first crossfit in Gladstone (only just) and that was the end of 2011 to 2013.
- Crossfit gympie was also the first for the area in 2013
- Stay True weightlifting club also started in 2013 in Gympie.

I started weight training when I was around 15 years old, and I plan to continue indefinitely. It's an outlet for me, and I enjoy spending the quality time lifting and being with myself.
With consistent resistance training, a lot of our aging issues are manageable, and living is a smidge easier.
When do you want to start lifting weights? Yesterday. But it doesn't matter if you are a teen or retired. The benefits are still there regardless. Just start.

I'm still here, working on strengthening my and my clients' weaknesses. As with most over 30 it's back pain.

15 years ago, I opened Stay True Health and Fitness, I never knew what ride this would have taken us on.

It started as outdoor personal training and bootcamps in Gladstone parks. I bought a van, and all I had was a vision. It just grew and evolved naturally.
The second phase went indoors with it eventually having a name change to Crossfit 4680 and a move to an outdoor hybrid training situation at a sports ground.
Our third phase was a move to gympie to open a purpose built facility, and here we opened CrossFit Gympie and Stay True Weightlifting Club.
We eventually dropped Crossfit and reclaimed the original name.
Our fourth phase is jemma taking the Weightlifting to Iron Palace and the schools and me working from our home gym setup and home visits.

I am grateful for every person we have met. The friends we have made and the accomplishments we have achieved. This journey hasn't been easy, but we as coaches have grown, and I am proud of the product we offer.

Here's to another 15 years on this journey.
