SENIOR PRESENTATIONS 2026
Saturday 19th September saw Hahndorf Soccer Club Celebrate their senior season at Gold Sponsor - German Arms Hotel
President Claudia Arsiè opened the evening acknowledging country and welcoming all to the night ahead, sharing the final standings of the teams’ seasons. HSC Women Div 4s finished 3rd, with only three points separating the top three teams, and going undefeated against the eventual top placed team. HSC Women Div 6 finished 7th, solidifying the addition of the second women’s team with lots of new faces, and even more growth within. HSC Div 3D Men finished 7th, struggling for players to start the season and Coach Troy’s first year on the job, but rounding it out towards the end of the season to come away with a few wins.
Then the evening was passed over to emcees Lynley Driver and Amber Marwede to take the attendees through the season, round by round, with a break in the middle for mains.

PRESIDENT’s Award
President Arsiè announced the recipient of the President's Award as Andrew Correll.
Claudia shared these words on his contribution to the club:
This year’s president's award goes to someone who’s been around the club for a few years now and puts in countless hours behind the scenes contributing to something many of us look forward to each week – photos! We’d like to recognise Andrew Correll for his contributions not just this season, but the many prior for his photography. His photos not only help improve our visibility in the community via social media and the Mt Barker Courier Sport, but also provide players a memento form their games. We are very grateful for the care Andrew puts in to filter, edit, and select photos, ensuring he captures all players and key moments. Thanks Andrew
President Arsiè also took a moment to thank thank sponsors for supporting the Club in being able to keep fees affordable and being a part of our community, with a special thank you to Platinum sponsors of the Hahndorf Fruit & Veg Market and Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers and Gold sponsors of The German Arms and SportsPower Mt Barker.
The Club also took a moment to thank retiring committee members for their contributions over the years.
Ashleigh Tarling – 2 years
Ashleigh joined the committee at the 2024 AGM in the Events Coordinator role. She saw some great club events come to fruition – Season Launch and Shirt Presentations, our first Pride Cup, Mothers day, Respect Round, Family Fun Day, and more. In her second year, she also took on Sponsorship – redesigning our Sponsors Pack and securing two new Major sponsors – German Arms and Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers, as well as renewing two others all for three year deals. In addition to that, she created a brand guide and countless social media content too. A big round for Ash!
Claudia Kerr – 14 years as a volunteer and the last 9 years on the committee. Claudia began her volunteering as a coach, from 2013 to 2017, and also by supporting the club with social media. Claudia then joined the committee as the Coaching Coordinator, before stepping in to the President for the last 6 years. Claudia said 'It’s been a fun ride, but now time to take a break and spend some (non-football) time with Jarred'.
Anita Kerr – 22 years committee and 24 as a volunteer
Anita is retiring after an incredible tenure at HSC. Sharing a moment to look back through her time here – though it’s hard to summarise that many years in such a short speech. Anita began as a Team Manager in 2003 for U8s (that was the lowest age group we had back then) and recalls having our Junior Presentations at Bridgewater Sports Club. She joined the Junior Committee in 2005 – which in that point in the club’s history, There were two separate committees – junior and senior. Anita was a part of running junior quiz night planning and ordering trophies. She became the Junior Secretary in 2006 with both Brendan Kilpatrick and Graham Phillips and having meetings in her dining room after the kids had gone to bed! In 2008 Anita also took on Equipment and Social Coordinator roles. In 2009 Hahndorf were using Mylor oval for competitive and senior training and she was a part of the Club’s 30th Year celebrations at Maximilians. That was also the year that the club got change rooms and a verandah. In 2011 Anita coordinated grounds, and 2012 she became the registrar. 2013 she took on the new role of CSO (Child Safe Officer) and was a part of a massive chocolate fundraiser. The Club also got its new canteen/kitchen. 2014 saw one of her major achievements of updating the club's constitution and regulations in line with the Office of Rec & Sport and other government guidelines. Anita has kept up with the ever changing player registration systems and red tape too. In 2019 she was a part of the Club’s 40th Year celebrations, and the list goes on and on. Anita even coached at one point, meaning she has done every committee role, except for President. Anita also team managed, planned junior movie nights and discos, presentations, working bees, Adelaide United Visits, carnivals, and more. She was a part of the project group that secured funding and the installation of our light towers and scoreboard. Anita has seen the club when there was no power or hot water or toilets, to what it is today.
And when asked why? Why be a part of all of that for so long, she simply said “ the main reward from volunteering was to see kids playing and enjoying football with friends, old and new, and being a part of this community.” She also said she’s met some lovely people along the way and made some life long friends.
All in all, a great night to celebrate the season that was. HSC look forward to announcing the senior coaching team in the coming months, with Preseason 2027 due to start in the second week of January.
