🏊 Come and say hello to the MARC Swim School!

We’ll be at the Mandurah Community Safety Expo 2026 tomorrow, Saturday, 24 October, from 10.30am to 1pm at the Billy Dower Youth Centre.

Bring a friend, meet our friendly Swim School team and learn more about our swimming programs at our interactive stand. We’ll also have some giveaways to take home!

There’ll be plenty happening across the Expo too, with emergency vehicles, kids’ activities, entertainment, food and more. Entry is free.

🏐 Netball umpires wanted!

Love netball and enjoy being part of the action on court? We’re looking for netball umpires to join the MARC's casual umpiring team.

Games are currently held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings at the Mandurah Aquatic Recreation Centre and Halls Head Recreation Centre.

You don’t need to be available for every session. Simply include your availability when you apply.

🌻 The John Tonkin College Education Support Centre Disability Expo is coming to the MARC this Friday!

Celebrating its 10th year, the JTCESC Disability Expo is bringing more than 100 stallholders together under one roof, connecting people with disability, families, carers and the wider community with services and support.

There’ll also be plenty happening throughout the day, including a silent disco, Chill Out Zone and free sausage sizzle.

🌻 A quiet hour will run from 1pm to 2pm, with reduced lighting in the Show Courts. Communication boards and a social story will also be available to help make the event more accessible.

Debbie is a lifesaver on duty, and off.

Our Aquatics Operations Officer was recognised with a Royal Life Saving Society WA Bravery Award on Friday, 9 October, after helping save the life of a woman who suffered a cardiac arrest in Mandurah.

Drawing on her extensive lifesaving training and experience, Debbie quickly assessed the situation, directed bystanders to call 000, coordinated those on scene and assisted with life-saving care while waiting for paramedics to arrive. We are very pleased to say the woman made a successful recovery.

While Debbie spends her working days helping keep our community safe at the MARC, this incident showed that her commitment to helping others extends far beyond the workplace.

The Royal Life Saving Bravery Awards recognise acts of courage, skill and selflessness in emergency situations, and Debbie's actions exemplify all three.

And Debbie wasn't the only member of the MARC team recognised on the night.

Senior Lifeguard and Aquatics Operations Officer Tahlia received a Royal Life Saving WA Gold Medallion for her actions during a life-threatening medical emergency while working as a Duty Officer at Cannington Leisureplex.

Her quick thinking, leadership and lifesaving response helped save a man's life, earning her this outstanding recognition.

Please join us in congratulating both Debbie and Tahlia on these remarkable achievements. 💙
