It’s rates time, and we understand that some people in our community are facing financial hardship.
If you are having difficulty paying your rates, we can support you with payment plans, payment deferrals, and waivers of penalty interest.
Council also offers rates assistance for pensioners of $90, and the Victorian Government offers a rebates to eligible pensioners, plus a $50 reduction on the Emergency Services Levy.

Well done Moira,
Back in October 2021 your Notice of Motion to inform our City of Melton residents about this was passed unanimously. Let’s hope sanity prevails and MPs make common sense decisions. 👍

Today is Australian Citizenship Day, a chance to reflect on what it means to belong to our community and to celebrate the people who become citizens each year.

Citizenship is about shared values, participation and the commitment to contribute to a fair and inclusive Australia. It also recognises the diverse journeys that bring people here and the strength that diversity gives all of us.

We are grateful every time we host a Citizenship Ceremony, that we can be part of this important moment in people’s lives.

Did you know that if you own or rent a property in the City of Melton, you're entitled to two hard waste collections from your home, two drop-off visits to the Melton Recycling Facility, or one of each, per financial year?

We're still seeing illegal dumping across our city, so we're encouraging you to help, by:
• Letting your family, friends and neighbours know of disposal options are available.
• Reporting dumped rubbish when you see it so we can investigate and take action against those responsible.

Dumping rubbish, furniture, mattresses and other waste in public spaces is illegal. It harms our environment, creates an eyesore in our neighbourhoods.

Waste entitlements and help keep the City of Melton clean for everyone.
