It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating news that our beloved founder, Pat Marsh, passed away this morning.
Pat was an extraordinary woman whose dedication, vision and unwavering devotion to Merinda Calisthenic College shaped not only our club, but the lives of generations of pupils and coaches.
A true pioneer and leader in our sport, Pat was a woman of groundbreaking ideas who led with strength, integrity and an unwavering sense of fairness. She was always a lady – respectful, genuine and gracious in all that she did.
Pat taught with an incredible eye for detail, instilling in her pupils the importance of technique, performance and a strong work ethic. She set the highest of standards, but perhaps her greatest gift was her ability to inspire her pupils to rise to those expectations, giving them the confidence to believe they could achieve anything.
Under her leadership, Merinda enjoyed many years of extraordinary success across all disciplines, particularly excelling in Clubs, Folk Dance and Calisthenic Spectacular. Her influence extended well beyond our college.
For so many of us, Pat was much more than a teacher. She was a mentor, an inspiration and the person who encouraged us to follow in her footsteps and become coaches ourselves. The values she instilled in us continue to guide the way we teach, lead and inspire our own pupils today.
Pat didn't simply establish a calisthenics college. She created a legacy that has been passed down through generations, and one that will continue to live on in every pupil who wears the Merinda Blue and White.
We are absolutely heartbroken by her passing, and our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Keith, Sharon, Brett, Jodie and their families, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Thank you, Pat, for your vision, your guidance, your belief in us.
Your legacy will live on forever, and you will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
