WELL DONE YOUNG MAN A GRAND PRIX WINNER!
It’s been a wonderful journey watching this young man race his way to the pinnacle of the sport.
I remember watching Oscar racing in karts locally and in the 2016 world Jnr titles in Bahrain and I knew back then that he would one day be a Grand Prix winner.
His determination, and the support of his family and friends has been vindicated.
I know it’s not a surprise to those around you, that you would succeed, neither is your continuing humble and polite determined nature.
I am proud that a young Oscar Piastri became an Auto Action columnist back before his F3 days… and to this day we still have his column and that makes me very proud.
I always knew that one day he would be the focus of our cover… As a Grand Prix winner (He has been a few times before) and here it is!
Well done young man, thanks for the journey so far and I look forward to seeing you win many more Grand Prix and maybe one day an F1 Championship.
I’m an unabashed fan and excited supporter.
See you soon Oscar Chris Piastri, and again well done!

The latest Episode is live now... The Auto Action RevLimiter is back for 2024, warts and all. Andrew, Bruce and PG get stuck into all the topics that matter – brought to you by AC Delco and Gilligans - Route 66 Tours who can get you to the Chicago Street Race.
Let us know what you think of Bruce's idea to break the Bathurst 1000 into quarters, much like a NASCAR race: Points and Prize money for Laps 40, 80 and 120.
Who knows, if we get enough response we may even find a prize or two.

A couple of winners!
Well, how cool is this, Ben Searcy and a kid called Oscar Piastri - two of my favourite people in the world got to catch up and say hi to each other at the FIA Awards in Baku over the weekend.
Ben was there to receive his award for an outstanding effort in winning the Asia Pacific Rally Championship as a co-driver.
And the other guy… well he is just a special person, and not a bad racer and I have with much pride watched him grow as a young man and deliver on every level.
This FIA awards ceremony, Oscar has collected his second, yes that’s right his second ‘FIA Rookie of the Year Award’ in his last two season of racing!
He won it in his winning F2 seasons, and after a little break has won it for his F1 season…. Well that’s an award he won’t win again for a while!
Ben and I go way back, apart from being a wonderful person he was my very brave co-driver in our Tarmac rally days in our Subaru.
Ben has a wonderful record in the rallying world, an Australian Rally Championship, an Australian Tarmac Rally Chanpionship, an Indonesian Championship and a New Caledonian Championship.
And he can drives as well!
Great people and wonderful motorsport ambassadors, congratulations to you both.

Image of old Winton pit-lane, 1985.
Look how dry the grass is and no spectator banking at the back. Seems like a warm day.

was another big bank of points for Shane van Gisbergen in the Repco Supercars Championship, but he didn't get it all his own way.
Will Davison was supreme on Saturday, but a car issue in qualifying opened the door for the Championship leader a and he never needs more than just a sniff.
With podiums over the weekend to those two plus Anton De Pasquale, Will Brown, Chaz Mostert, and Broc Feeney, how did it play out, and who were the winners and losers?
